Had to play and watch that for nostalgia

I always felt so bad for that Indian. It really shaped my thinking when I was young. I still hate littering to this day.

"That Indian" is Iron Eyes Cody.

Trivia: he was actually born a Sicilian-American and acted in roles as a Native American. However, he fully embraced being Native American on and off screen. He submersed himself in Native American culture to the point of denying his birth heritage. In 1995, the Hollywood Native community honored Cody for his contributions to the representation of Native American life, yet they tactfully pointed out his non-Native heritage

I should have bookmarked it but there is a guy who has worked for the FDA, tobacco act and is now a consultant. Says he can advise with lawsuits etc against them since he knows how they work. That might be worth checking into.

I disagree that you tube can't reach enough folks, if you have lots of vids out there and they go viral, that would be a big thing. It may not reach enough older folks, I don't know the stats for that. It is certainly one way to work it without the giant costs of airtime.

When I smoked I would never throw a .... on the ground.
    Or out a car window.

In fact, when someone in front of me threw a .... out their car window...
    I would high beam them...

And beside me would probably be an empty Coke can with at least one .... in it.
And yeah, my car would not smell that great.

Littering is one of the most selfish and self-absorbed things a person can do.

Never mind littering, I've always lived in areas with high fire danger.

How was the battle won for harm reduction for clean needles, etc...?

Never mind- I actually see after googling that that battle wasn't actually won.
I disagree. Originally it was individuals and ex-junkies who started programs with their own money because they believed it was the right thing to do. Now it is common for public health agencies to sponsor their own needle exchanges. At the minimum law enforcement doesn't hassle these organizations any more. If you google "needle exchange" most of the links are very positive.

I've written my Congressman. I've written the President. I wrote my story to CASAA. I'm stock piling 100mg NIC. as of now at my current rate of vaping I have 13+ years of NIC in the freezer and with 2 more liters I figure I'm set to 79 years old. I've got 5 Istick Pico mods. 1 DNA 40 2 DNA 75 chips on the way. 2 DNA 200 mods, and the skill plus tooling to keep me in mechanicals. 304 .020 SS Safety Wire for coils. PG VG and flavors will always be able to be had. The blackmarket will boom. No matter what happens I'll never go back to analogs!

I'll be honest though, I felt dirty after typing it. For multiple reasons.

Not a way I personally want to win this.

    What about this one.

Tight shot on a girl, no older than 8, missing at least two front teeth.
    "I love vaping!"
Pull the shot out and she's on a soccer field with her dad kicking the ball towards her.
"Since my daddy stopped smoking and started vaping, he can help me practice my footwork!"

She needs something else on her t-shirt, so it doesn't look like she been enticed to vape. Something more like, "My grandma vapes!"
Pull back to shot of her and grandma in the park
"When my grandma smoked she had a hard time breathing and couldn't walk very far. Now we go to the park everyday and feed the ducks!"
Or now mom/dad/grandma/grandpa can walk the kid to school - play a sport - whatever.

It's actually exactly the same as your idea, but with a different message on the kid's shirt.

I think Wired's suggestion is brilliant. The ANTZ are using kids against us. Time to turn the tables......
Here's a thought. The FDA is requiring studies to show how any product relates to
any one other product in terms of expected usage, cessation of usage and likelihood
of preventing or facilitating its transition from one class of tobacco products to
another ad infinitum, blah, blah, blah. Ok,that's all well in good. It's crossed my mind
that any potential users of these products would have to be children and this type of
testing would be more impotent than any other group because it's all about the chillin',
    right?
Therefor anyone who applies for the PMTA they are going to have to hire some chillin'
to conduct this vitally important testing upon. Any manufacturer who is planning on the
PMTA route to keep their product on the market should start advertising post haste for
chillin' needed to conduct this testing.

In anticipation of this need and as a public service to manufacturers that plan on going
the PMTA route I have prepared at my own expense and with considerable time and effort
on my part a sample advert. Feel free to use any of this in whole or in part in your
pre-PMTA finished advert with or with out nicotine.

Attention parents. In our effort to comply with the FDA's Requirements for testing
of our products we have immediate employment opportunities for your children.
Must be a non smoker/vapers. Duties include but are not limited too, smoking and not
vaping then, vaping and not smoking then, vaping and smoking. Compensation will include
payment for time, transportation and health benefits and or hospital checkups if any
health related benefits are not covered under your current coverage. We reserve the
right to determine what health related cost we will cover at our own discretion.
All compensation and or remunerations will be paid in full at the end of the study
period and signed consent to do further studies that may be needed ad ifinitim
at the sole discretion of the FDA. Please call 1-xxx-xxx-fool to arrange a interview.

    ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, your Purpleness...
But I can't find anything about anything being on her shirt, in that original "script".

I don't have the answer but I feel like there's a way we can work in the kids, and the positives without further demonizing smoking, and getting something that will go viral. Depressing doesn't go viral.

Grandma blowing a huge cloud, that would go viral.

I'm not a millennial but I'm pretty close, we tune out sad stuff because life sucks enough already.

"This child lost his parent" loses to "this child gets to grow up still having his parent"

As people in another forum I frequent would say, "Get both?"

Oh, you're right. You have to remember I have a reading problem (no j/k).

Tight shot on a girl, no older than 8, missing at least two front teeth.
    "I love vaping!"

Was too close together and I read it as:

T shirt on a girl, no older than 8,
    "I love vaping!"

    Sorry Les.

I agree, and I've always agreed.
Public support is number one, and the supreme ruler of all that follows.

    And we don't have it.
We should have gotten it but we didn't.

    Big Media is the reason.
    And money.

Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of money.

It's not too late to get it though.
    Not yet anyway.

I think the way to get public support is not necessarily convincing them that vaping is safer, because people who have no interest in it tend to just believe what they hear in the media. They are not going to put that much effort into researching it for themselves, because they simply don't care. I think the angle that may get the best result is about government ruling our lives and telling us what we can and can't do. People in this country have had ENOUGH of that - both liberal and conservative, imo.
