All this FDA stuff has made me so sad that I just bought another goat to cheer myself up.

Hope he doesn't vape.

It's a she.

Fixed it.

No vaping for her, she's pregnant.

Watch out for the skeeters.

NO! My goats are lawn ornaments!

Goats are very cool, and I wish I had one.

my goats are lawn mowers.

They really are. When you spend time with them their personalities just blossom. Each one is different.

everybodies always trying to get my goat.

Are you a horse?

Call me Ed & that's Mr. to you ;)

Thank you, all. I SO needed a laugh this morning...

Yes, @The Ocelot , I know. Master of Mood Swings. So be it.

And on the subject of advocacy, am I the only person who thinks that the repeated calls to "Support Cole-Bishop" are at least a bit silly?

The Cole-Bishop amendment has already passed, and is attached to the FY2017 Agricultural Appropriations Bill. Isn't THAT is what we should be requesting (a) a vote on, and (b) support of?

My brain is telling me that asking a rep to support Cole-Bishop is like asking someone to go put ethanol in your car.

I'm done.

I just received a reply from CASAA, bringing clarity to the situation, at least for me. And I pass it on here, for whatever it may be worth.

(Julie Woessner) I will be the first to say that this is all rather confusing, but the "support Cole-Bishop Amendment" language is the right one to use here, not "Pass the appropriations bill."

Cole-Bishop is an amendment to the agricultural appropriations bill. Yes, the appropriations bill passed committee with the Cole-Bishop Amendment, but the next step for the agricultural appropriations bill is a vote in the full house. At that time, we are anticipating a motion to strip Cole-Bishop from the appropriations bill.

In other words, the important thing for politicians to understand from our standpoint isn't to pass the appropriations bill . . . actually, that's a "must pass" bill. The important thing is to keep the Cole-Bishop Amendment in the appropriations bill.

I hope this helps

I saw a post somewhere, maybe here or maybe facebook, where a vape shop had provided letters, envelopes, and stamps and were collecting letters from customers to send off. I know that form letters aren't as memorable, but I thought this was a good idea to drum up letters from people who might not normally write their reps. We all might consider talking to our local shops about doing something similar.

Yep. We need to continue to hammer the Congress critters hard to keep the language of the amendment included with the bill. There's going to be a concerted effort from those on the take to get the language removed.

Truer words, none. The inevitable truths of power continue...

Do you know how it could get stripped? I would assume if someone tried to it would be a Dem. I'm not well versed on this stuff but I would assume it would be very difficult to get a majority vote at this point.

Someone would float a proposal to remove the amendment to the bill, and that proposal would be voted on. If the vote fails, the amendment stays in the bill.

These regulations have made me angry from the start, but yesterday they made me completely depressed. I talked to my aunt who I convinced to try vaping only a month ago. She has been able to go from a carton a week to a pack a week. After 47 years it took her a month to make a 90% reduction, using only a cheap ego kit. I should be happy but instead I'm having to worry about how to keep her vaping through this :censored: mess.

Add in a state law comming up to vote that could ban a plant that has been an absolute miracle for me. (Not the "other stuff" but NC would be the 4th state to ban it and others have placed age restrictions so idk how much detail I can give with in the rules). The state laws here on bathroom use, and 100 other things, all together have me absolutely convinced the government just wants to destroy everyone's lives. I'm beginning to wonder why the :censored: I'm on this planet.

Sorry for the giant batch of negativity, I just needed to rant this morning. :(

Nearly illegible, but of interest, it looks like they are suing the FDA, and Robert Califf the Commisioner, and Sylvia, the head of Health and Human Services - personally.

Cough up them legal fees, Robert.
Ha, fat chance. You and I and all other taxpayers will cough up those fees.
