1 gallon = 3.785 liters. I round to 4, not 3

My freedom smoked.com (MFS) is NOT a "backwater source". Their everyday price for a liter of 100mg nic is $50 and they regularly put it out at $42 or so. buy 2 and you get free shipping. They are a very well respected source for nic but they do not market themselves as "boutique premium". I have made 4 buys over an 18 month period and was fully satisfied each time.

Last year I ordered a sample vial of Nude Nicotine. When I got it I tested it against my MFS by mixing unflavored VG at 24mg and was not sure I could tell them apart. Just the other day I did a similar test at 50mg (yes fifty). The NN may have been slightly less harsh. If I made a habit of vaping 50mg I might upgrade and pay double. But since I normally vape 3mg where it is impossible for me to tell the difference....

Eta:. Yes, to get good pricing you need to buy nic by the liter,. Pg and VG by the multiple gallons and flavoring by the 4 oz bottle.
Over in the diy thread alot of company's they were talking about the cost was $100 and up for a liter

Nic from places like VapersTek and Nude are the cleanest and smoothest and cost $100/ltr. There is a difference between those and other places like Heartland/MFS/Alchem.

The question each person needs to decide for themselves is if it's worth it. For some it definitely is. And others can't tell enough difference to care.

Ive tried multiple nics and can't tell that much of a difference. But I vape low power and single coils. I personally like a little throat hit so super smooth nic won't work for me.

I got a sample of alchem/nicselect from nicotine river yesterday. Crystal clear and faint typical nic odor. The odor is less than my RTS nic (circa 2013). In going to mix unflavored later today and vape it for a while. I'll post results.

Can't go wrong there. I still have some MFS in the freezer from 3 years ago. Vapes fine. I'm trying to do the most logical thing without breaking the bank. I mix for 4 people and I'm down to my last 2 liters in the freezer and want to buy 10 more. I want to stock from several sources because of the amount of time I need it to last in the deep freeze. I would hate to put all my eggs in one basket and have a longevity problem. I'm thinking about getting a gallon from Nic River, 2 liters of VapersTek TH, 1 from MFS, 1 from Heartland, and also 2 Nude Armors for the end game.

I've been stressing over this and am looking forward to getting it all bottled up and in the deep freeze. Once that happens I probably never have to think about it again.

MFS is still $50 as of a minute ago. In my very humble opinion, nic discussions here are not unlike wine tasting affictionados. There are those that turn up their nose and sniff at anything priced under $100/liter. Others like me have sampled "standard priced" nic around $50/liter verses boutique $100 nic and not found much if any difference.

I will also admit I am a rail gin and rum drinker. There is nothing Beefeater offers to make me pay 3.5x as much as Bowman's or Burnett's. Except a little extra flavoring. Considering I have over 100 different flavorings for DIY, if I put my mind to it I could probably turn a $10.50 handle of Bowman's into a $35 handle of Beefeater :D

Thank you! Now off to hunt glass bottles! Any tips for glass?

Need to shop around on that one. It depends on what size bottles you are after and how many. Be sure to include the caps (I use polycone) and shipping in your delivered price comparisons. Some companies who have low bottle prices charge a LOT for shipping.

Last bottles I got were from www.glassbottleoutlet.com

Went with e-liq comes with glass for 43$

You might consider buying some polycone caps for those. I think eLiq ships their glass bottles with "droppers" which may not be the best for deep freeze.

All this info is really helping me but now I can't decide if I should buy 70/30 vg/pg or 50/50!
I am a Tootle Puffer and since all I have ever bought is pre mixed I am not sure which direction to go! I don't care about clouds!
Suggestions would be appreciated as nic base is the last item I need to be good for the next 10-15 years!
I was going to go with NN but after seeing some alternate prices I think I will buy a little from NN, MFS and maybe Heartland.

I bought 50/50. PG has the benefit of being an antibacterial. VG *may* last longer because it being thicker may react less with oxygen. I personally think VG *might* create some problems ensuring the contents are well mixed since it is so viscous. Also more difficult to pour. So I've split it down the middle and been happy. The 50/50 is easy to shake, easy to pour and pull into a syringe for precise measurement.

Also, 50/50 is flexible for max PG or max VG mixes. At smaller concentrations such as 3-6mg there isn't enough of either to significantly dilute whichever you are maxing.

All the above could be said for 70/30, but relatively thicker and less PG for antibacterial qualities. I personally never considered it. You will get a lot of different opinions on this since it is all shades of gray.

No, I evolved to Evolv!
There were a LOT of steps along the way, but I admit, I did bypass Provari.

Story time! I hope some of you will read/enjoy. I know some will "TL/DR".

The first vaping item I bought, was an eGo battery, back in early 2011. (Still works!)
e1631fa1b009fe083bb44641ce2720e9.jpg

Before that, I'd "ogled and tried" the many different ecigs my friends had, for most of 2009/2010.
But in 2011 I fell in love with that eGo. It was tiny. And damn near the only one available on the market at the time. JoyeTech, black, no 5-clicks-safe, no VV...what a mess!

It was dripping bridge atomizers, then cartos, and then when punch&tanked cartos came out...well I was stuck on those for a long time.
It wasn't until 2013 that I bought my first Provari. Bronze Mini, secondhand, and I was over the moon. Several months later, I tried my first Kayfun Lite, and said goodbye to tanked cartos forever.

As of last night, I opened a package containing my first Billet Box (Rev-3.a 2014) and I actually installed a carto in it! Talk about memory lane! I like a tight draw, but damn! How did I survive off these things? I mean, I lung hit a KFL no problem (crazy huh?)...but this carto. Wow. Flavor is insane! But the draw. Oh so sad.

I sat my new Billet Box down last night, in my "vape stand", next to my 8 Provari v2.5's (converted to flat cap & not all pictured), my two Provari P3 Betas, and my Mark Bugs Wizard's Apprentice Evolved II (DNA30). The Billet Box is my first box mod. Yes. Really.
On the side of the stand, my JoyeTech eGo AIO is hanging out with my Pax JUUL. They're fun. They're stealth. I likes.
I stood back, looking at my (mostly Provari and Kayfun) collection. The Mark Bugs GEMs looking so neat with their matte finish. The Kayfun 5 waiting for the SvoëMesto "tighter draw option", the Kayfun 4 filled with sweet&sour peach, the ByLeo CALIX boasting its Greek pride, next to Kayfuns dolled up in their Steam Tuners gear...The smooth, cool look of my Kabuki, winking at me in the same coy manner its American genius-inventor would do, behind his great white beard.
I stared at this assembly of gear, and I thought..."How? How did it turn into this?"
And I answered myself..."The desire to quit smoking fueled a passion I never knew I would have."

----
I started smoking AFTER high school. That's June 2003 (for all you elders reading this). I was hooked. Already being very into drinking, smoking came naturally. I quickly turned from my Parliament Lights to Marlboro 27's. Things escalated.
Eventually, I started my own pool cleaning business (Yes, @TheOcelot, I was a hot pool boy), and was my own boss. And the boss didn't care if I smoked on the job. All the driving gave me plenty of idle time to smoke.
I wound up increasing my smoking from 1.5 packs a day, to three packs a day, in 2009.
I was out of control.
----
Never did I think this road would finally lead me to a nicotine-free lifestyle in 2014.
I still vape today, as eagerly as I did in 2014, when I had finally vaped long enough to step down to 0mg.

It became passion. A hobby. An art.
And by-Joe I loved it.
I'm a tinkerer. A mechanic. A perfectionist. And I wouldn't (and won't) stop buying gear, until I had found every possible version of my perfect vape. Because all of my gear has a different thing to lend to my experience.
But most important of all...I'm not smoking.

What a long, strange journey it has been, indeed.

----
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I may not be as old as most of you, and I may not have smoked as long as you did (boy did I do my best to make up for lost time! 3 packs a day for a little over 2 years before vaping entered my life)...
But I've struggled with this addiction just as strongly. We all face it. And we are all lucky vaping is here, to help us down. Like a firefighter helping someone off the roof of a burning building. For many of us, there was no end in sight.
For many smokers, there still isn't.
Let's keep fighting for those who have not been as fortunate as we have, and are still riding that train.
