Our best hope is reaching the press. In a way, they have failed us the most, as some have said. They are supposed to be the ones to keep an eye out for, and inform the people of, the kind of government and corporate corruption we've been attacked with.

We probably stand a much better chance of getting through to journalists, than to Government officials.

I wish that was true, but investigative reporters are an endangered species, pretty much extinct. The media isn't looking out for us anymore. There may be a few out there amongst the rest and we need them to get the word out, but I unfortunately think the mainstream media will drown out their voices.

If you're on FB and/or Twitter--please, please like (bottom of page) and share with everyone you know.

And write another thank you note to the Good Senator and the Committee. We need to support Sen. Johnson and his efforts!

As I'm sure you know, there is a certain percentage of people who take immense pleasure in making rules for others, scolding them and exercising power over them. Gather enough of these people together, give them something or someone to dislike (Jews, Tutsis, Hutus, smokers... it doesn't matter), and they will soon encourage and reinforce one another to the point where all sense of truthfulness, humility and ethical behavior goes out the window. This sort of thing has been repeated throughout history.

Our Founding Fathers believe that a strong and free press was the cornerstone of liberty. Unfortunately, that cornerstone has developed some serious cracks. We see more and more bureaucratic propaganda and slanted press releases reported uncritically as fact, and Facebook and Twitter seem to be primary sources of "news" for too many people.

Our best hope is reaching the press. In a way, they have failed us the most, as some have said. They are supposed to be the ones to keep an eye out for, and inform the people of, the kind of government and corporate corruption we've been attacked with.

I'm sitting here with great anticipation for June 20th. What will happen if the fda doesn't respond again? Sen. Johnson should go after them with all claws out.

Indeed...seems like all we have to do is blow off our noses
or other body part or get careless with the DIY stuff so
our children or pet will ingest it and die...and we for sure get
"journalists" attention..

Sensationalism SELLS. News stories are written/produced
to sell the media and attract advertisers, as well as to stay in harmony with
the will of Big Brother.
Unbiased, Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How
are no longer part of a journalist's mission.

Money is the bottom line for both Gub'min and the media.
Nobody gives a crap about the truth, the constitution,
ethics, or fair play as long as somebody cuts a check.

Many of us are still under the impression
that life is like in 'Leave it to Beaver' where even Eddie Haskell
(played by Ken Osmond) had a conscience. It isn't.

Regards,
Hazy

I'm sure nicotine is on the FDA's list for future regulation.
Not likely. That would mean regulating *real* tobacco products even more than they are now.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. (Just like the first time).

The media is part of the 'revolving door' much like elective officials becoming lobbyists. And many "reporters" have spouses/companions in gov't. As some have said - they are the 'steno pool' for the administration merely duplicating the admin's press releases. I like lapdog media and state control media a bit better. All apply though, with rare exceptions. They also use polls that are "steered" by the way the questions are asked, in order to make "news".

Well, something happened. Sen. Johnson wrote another letter, gave them a stern warning, and made it public.

Imagine you're the chairman of a powerful senate committee in charge of monitoring the activities of government agencies. You ask for information and they don't even bother to respond. You ask again, this time more forcefully, and again they blow you off. Would you just let it slide?

Not sure if anything about hr 2058 has been posted lately but HR2058 has gained 5 more co-sponsors this month bringing the total to 63. All R's of course but nothing bad about seeing more names on the list. These same people can help in other ways too. At least awareness is gaining traction.

I would fall out of my chair and maybe die if a Dem joined in. Don't have to worry about that though. lol

New business venture, wait until all the Vape shops close then hold "Mod Building Workshops".

I actually had that discussion with one of my local shop owners: run two stores, Suite A and Suite B, one that specializes in high-end flashlights and aroma-therapy supplies, and the other an instructional workshop that operators BYOM.

After-all, he currently does a decent business in tobacco-only water pipes, and I've never even seen anyone put tobacco in one of those things.

It's not even true that nothing happened. FDA spokesman issued a statement that the Agency is crafting a response to Sen. Johnson's request.

"FDA spokesman Michael Felberbaum said Thursday the agency is reviewing the letter and “will respond directly to the senator.” "

Quite staggering, seeing it condensed like that.

Makes applying for political asylum in North Korea a palatable prospect ;)

Kidding aside - there is clips on YT where lecturers in cognitive science postulate that the only reason for democracy ( or what's being sold as to us as democracy ) to be around still is that it's more cost effective to run than some totalitarian state with its gigantic, resource-intensive security/suppression apparatus.
And that's being said by scientists with decent credentials, not some tinfoil hat whackos.

Spin doctoring, public opinion engineering, thought formatting, manipulation techniques - no need to put you behind a fence, no necessity to put you behind walls, the wall and fences get built right into your head...

... and with vaping it's been so easy to figure out that its the better deal in comparison to smoking that their hand got kinda forced...
