I'm afraid America lost its "free press" a decade ago, the days of Edward Murrow and Walter Cronkite are -long- gone. Mainstream media in the U.S. is now owned by a handful of corporations and they tend to report the government's official line almost verbatim. This is why they continue running malicious stories about the "harmful effects" of vaping even though no credible source has detected -any- harm associated with it at all. One sided reporting isn't by accident, coincidence or lack of knowledge but by intent/design. This is how/why the general public came to believe vaping is as bad or worse than smoking, people tend to believe what they hear over and over and over again. Gaining broad pubic support was a necessary prerequisite to heavily regulating/taxing a harmful item that isn't harmful. Truth and fact become -completely irrelevant- so long as "perception" is fully on your side. I really see no reason to believe the U.S. press will reverse course and suddenly become objective in their reporting on this issue.
Walter Cronkite was a known socialist and would be in favor of Deeming and everything the Democrats in charge are doing.
