Agree completely with your comments on the FDA.
But, I spent most of the summer in Europe, and will happily defer to someone who lives there who disagrees with my following comments.
I don't see any evidence that the governments and vaping communities worked together there. Governments generally do what they want to do for their own reasons, which rarely have to do with what is for the benefit of the people.
In the UK, the medical profession is less prejudiced and less puritanical than that in the US. So, they're more open to vaping as a smoking cessation device.
The "rules" and laws are dictated from the EU in Brussels, which is from what I can see totally uninterested in working with common folks.
They may not have "deemed" but their regulations were not because they cared about vapers, nor because they reached out to determine what made sense.

I will say, after 5 wks in Italy: this country makes sense. No prohibitions on vaping anywhere. What a delightful change. I vaped in bars, in restaurants, in the airport...I vaped wherever I wanted. But, smoking is prohibited in many of those places. And, Italians are big smokers. Nice.

I was in Sweden for one month and many were amazed to see what I did blowing out huge clouds as they never saw something like that. Was in a pub in an outside setting and I caught a lot of people looking at me vaping. Swedes are more into those fancy snus packs as a smoking cessation. While in UK, Vaping is very popular and it was said that there are 3 millions active vapers there. In UK, they rebelled against the regulations EU had for vapers. max 10ml eliquid in a bottle can be sold. But I guess with the Brexit they do not care to comply with EU vaping regulations.
However, I do not think the EU regulations are as bad as it is here in US.

I'm not caught up yet, but the "careful limitations" they're referring to are:

So, no, it's not really a good analogy to taste testing in a vape shop. The FDA, in the regulations and every response that I've seen(especially to questions I specifically posed to them) does not even bother to address taste testing in a shop. Their idea of "samples" is products distributed for free.

I suppose they could come up with equally ridiculous rules for distributing vape samples at events, but that's not what we're all talking about.

At those vape shops I went to last year, all had ZERO nicotine in the samplings. I think I also saw the same thing for free hands out but have not been to an expo or so.
If most of the samplings are free of nicotine, how can this be a tobacco product?

They've already explained how presence of tobacco derived nicotine, or any actual tobacco, is no longer necessary for something to be considered a tobacco product...

0mg liquids can have nic added to them, so ipso facto columbo oreo, it's all a tobacco product.

I believe, I *know*, that second hand vape is harmless.

When I see this statement I think about the insect test. Blow smoke at a group of flies or mosquitoes - they fly away - blow a cloud of vapor at them - it does not phase them...

Sure, you can vape, but only how and where and for what reasons they approve. If you vape in WalMart, blow a cloud bigger than one cubic foot, vape for fun or around a cat you must be Satan.

I have seen people on a crowded waiting area blow a huge cloud of vapor into the crowd and laugh doing it - that is ignorance and disrespectful. I myself have vaped on an airplane - I kept my vapor light and dispensed down to the floor - the stewardess just smiled and left me alone...

It is true, FDA is asking us all to lie, vaping zero nic is a tobacco product, vape will not help you quit smoking, really with thousands probably millions it does?? It is getting silly, I wash my tanks and coils with vodka, does that make it a liquor product if a drop stays in there? Geez it gets ridiculous!

Clearly it does not become a liquor product. Rather, the vodka becomes a tobacco product, forcing you to drink it outside the bar in the cold and rain.:D

When I see threads on ECF in which some participants claim that cloud chasing, vaping in public, or vaping outside the laws are to blame for our predicament and in the next breath whine about the evil FDA, politicians, ANTZ and ignorant public, I can only think of the outright hypocrasy it takes to write things like that. Sure, you can vape, but only how and where and for what reasons they approve. If you vape in WalMart, blow a cloud bigger than one cubic foot, vape for fun or around a cat you must be Satan.
Satan !

And this at the end of your video ( had no idea there are "vape" videos with 3 or 4 million views ) :

I think you may be right, we are screwed. Would the public even know that they are poking fun at themselves.

Is now a bad time to promote the FDA regulating vaping so we can get "nutrition labels" that list ingredients?

'Cause they're FINALLY revising nutrition label laws.

However!

Although they're going to include an extra clip to show "added sugars", (as opposed to naturally occuring which is grossly less dangerous) there's still no plan on representing a sugar % daily value.
