I never said the government, or regulations were bad. I do think that regulations have a tendency to grow and often become burdensome to the point where they may do more harm than good. I see it as a deeper issue with the world today. We've gotten to the point where someone gets hurt, and instead of people learning from it, they instead learn how to protect themselves from future litigation because of it.

In any case, I don't know how much regulation slashing the new administration can do, and if it happens, I doubt the FSPTCA will be part of what gets slashed.
I'm just going to count on vapers getting tossed under the wheels of the bus, that way I won't be disappointed if things go that way. If anything positive happens, well, then it's time to put the lipstick on the goat and fire up the old Victrola and have a party! :D

We were tossed under the bus as smokers, why would we think vaping would be any different? The only advantage I can see in being a vaper(other than our health benefits which we care about and the ANTZ doesn't) is that no one stinks of smoke anymore, therefore it is not obvious that we partake in anything they disapprove of.

Indeed. Even with all the regulatory changes on the horizon, I really don't believe that vaping is on any political radar at this time. On the contrary, it's about to get overshadowed by high priced pharmaceuticals, energy development, health care and of course, "The Wall". Then it's on to regulations that are big job killers.

Maybe the U.S. vaping industry needs to threaten to move all its manufacturing to China. Oh, wait... never mind.

So we're back to Cole-Bishop which if passed will be mainly due to budgetary slight-of-hand and Democrat apathy than anything else. And the courts... if Nicopure (et al) wins I can't see the FDA appealing.

And so we wait. Some more. Again.

That may actually be a blessing in disguise if Trump ever directly addresses vaping as a president.

OTOH, if he addresses it as a business man, Chinese imports could double.

I wish they would just kill the regs (or finalize some practical safety regulations) and be done with it. We cannot have this cloud of uncertainty hanging over our heads. Vendors need to know if they can stay in business and those who are considering getting into the business need to know if they have a future. Rule on a final verdict and let's be done with it and move on accordingly.

I'm pretty sure that's what they think they've done already. The released their rules, the rules will pare down the field to a few controllable entities. Everybody wins, except us. I don't believe they expected the pushback that they're getting.

JMO.

But I don't know how much will be done until a Judgement is written for the NICOPURE Lawsuit?

Done in what sense? What will kick in by that unknown date? The age thing already did with the testing of vendors to try and entrap and fine them. They did provide some sort of grace period/delay in some of the Jan 1 stuff relating to registration by either 3 or 6 months. I expect there will be some decision by the judge within that time, and a good possibility Cole Bishop will survive given the Reps' held the House and Senate, with a low chance of veto by Trump.

I was hoping this would happen. Early in Trump's campaign, Hunter was one the first republicans who supported him. Let's hope Trump rewards that support by repealing the Deeming Regs!
I'm fairly certain Trump has no idea what e-cigs are but with his anti-smoking position I suspect he will need some educating before he approves any rollbacks of the regulations. Any help we can get from the likes of Duncan Hunter and Ron Johnson will certainly help.

I would think that if the Court was going to Strike Down some part(s) of Deeming, then why not wait for them to do it? And Don't use Political capital on things you don't need to.

And what the Court Upholds, wouldn't that be what the Administration/Congress would want to Focus on if they so Choose?

Something like the 18+ Age requirement or Nicotine as a Tobacco Product if it is Derived from Tobacco I Don't see changing. But Hardware? And the entire PMTA Train Wreck? And the Predicate Date?

As a medical guy and a politician I'm sure he knows what studies are valid and which are not.
In theory that should be true, but take a look art the most vehement anti-vaping people and organizations ; almost entirely politicians and people in the medical field.

Or at a minimum make the effort to completely understand them. As a medical guy and a politician I'm sure he knows what studies are valid and which are not.

I'm sure He/They do know the Valid Science from the Junk Science. Just like the Current HHS Secretary/FDA Commissionaire does.

The Differences (I Hope) is that the Valid Science is used in the Policy process. And not the Junk Science.

Something the current HHS/FDA Regime didn't seem to do.
