Or rather yet think of it as the first in a long line of steps necessary before reality sets in with the pols and lives get saved without sin bin finger pointing, regulation and massive taxation.

We're still in that grey area.

Behind us is total darkness.

Ahead is the light.

Notice that residue on the walls from cigarette smoking is called, "nicotine stains"? The nicotine content in those "nicotine stains" is probably negligible at most. But it gets the blame. Nicotine just brings up a horrible image in most people's minds.

Yup, those are tobacco TAR stains!

The only link I see between cigarettes and my vape is the nicotine content. If it's legal to buy nic in tablet form it should be fine to buy it in vapable form. Not only is it more fun to use, it actually WORKS to get people off combustible tobacco products.

Although do realize those nic lozenges you can buy are approved by the FDA as an over the counter drug, and vaping does not follow that path. Which is ok because if you think the whole PMTA process is an expensive big job, even OTC meds are way more expensive to get an approval on

Then there's also that federal court rule keeping vaping out of the drug column that was litigated way back when (?2009).

True, but we don't want to be placed under the Pharmaceutical umbrella. The headaches there would be intolerable. Tobacco product was a good fit for vaping if there had to be government control, IMO.

I may have to dodge punches and bullets for this, but I agree. The alternative is an entirely new regulatory framework and the uncertainty associated with that would probably grind development to a halt. The devil we know is probably better than the devil we don't.

Yep. We could be the next cash cow for the government if vaping drives BT to a lower profit level. Good luck proving that vaping is a cause of health issues. That's what placed BT in the Sin Tax sling to start with.

How about no fit at all, just leave it alone?
And I wish I had bought that single winning Powerball ticket for $750M.

It would cover some more mods and lots of nic for storage in my climate controlled survival shelter. Along with the lap pool and IMAX home theater in it. Although I guess if I have to actually use the shelter there won't be a ton of new releases to watch

IDK, those pesky politicians have bunkers with Underground Tunnels. I bet some of the actors and directors will still be around as well.... You might get your movies, Eskie! :D

I wish I could figure out how to buy JUST the winning power ball ticket ahead of time. I don't buy lottery tickets as my older brother told me they were just a "tax on stupidity."

I couldn't refute the statement, LOL.:D Or, they might be a tax on over energetic optimism, IDK, it's still a voluntary tax though. Also don't enjoy gambling, could never get over the "house always wins bit."

That being said, I mainly posted to agree with Mike. There is no good category, but I'm not sure the one we ARE in is the WORST. Ideally, it could be a supplement, but that's not going to happen. :(

Those kinds of jackpots ought to be split off as new prizes as they grow to a certain point. Wouldn't it be better for 750 people to win a million dollars?

Well, on the bright side, I keep hearing these stories about how lottery winners state that it was the most unpleasant couple years of their life and that if you're married, you are more likely to divorce, and that having all that $$$ leads to endless solicitations, a desire to pay it forward and not knowing how to HANDLE that kind of money leads to it all getting spent... Somehow.

I can't imagine it's true for everyone, LOL. The husband occasionally buys a ticket and when he brings it home I immediately request a pledge that he NOT divorce me, and that if he does, AZ is a community property state, LOL. :)

We have not won anything of significance, but my sister-in-law did win over $250K once. She's a bit odd and flighty, and her husband has mild mental ......ation, everyone kept begging them to a) buy a house b) put some away from retirement, but they did none of those things. Her husband is into some sort of trading cards like baseball, only more lame, the name "Wally world" springs to mind, maybe, and he bought a bunch of those and the money was otherwise spent on more useless stuff, and etc. So maybe it is true about lottery winners, as they then had to adjust to less flexible spending all over again....

I try not to be judgy about it since that is what I've heard about lottery winners. If you're good with money, you're already rich. If you aren't, you probably shouldn't be buying lottery tickets.... :)

Yes, especially if I were one of the 750.

7500 winners could get $100,000. That's a significant nest egg for future security if they invested it and didn't blow it on new cars and other non-necessities.

Ga lottery started in 1992. A Powerball ticket is $1. 2017-1992= 25 years. 25 x 365 days is $9125.00 saved by not participating. Who knows, maybe I would have been one of the big winners (or not).

It's 'cause when the woman gets her half, the man can actually afford it. GOOD BYE!

Ooooh.... That's cold. And, my parents got divorced right AFTER my dad's company stock went public and quite wild. They were both millionaires and my dad was like, about 6 months later... "I'm done here."

Now I'm anxious that I'm just THINKING I'm in a happy marriage and it's lack of funding that is stopping the Husband from leaving.... Sigh. Maybe I should buy another MOD??? :D Keep us nice and in the poorhouse? I seriously am anxious this morning, for whatever reason, but now I have a new thing to be anxious about... LOL. Time to visualize some "death practice" to cheer me up, one day I will not be thinking about these types of things!
