I know, Bad, but I thought if the batch is rated at 2.5Ω, you're likely to get some that are 2.4 or 2.3Ω or lower. I was hoping that they will have a batch that's rated just a bit higher. Didn't you say that they were planning on raising the resistance a little? Or offer both the lower and the higher options?

Br has a kr808 carto that meters at 4.5Ω. Talk about QC.

Wow, a man goes away for the night and this thread is out of hand...lol...

Im trying to find out results of the r4 testing. but i guess its friday and everyone is out partying leaving poor me and bankjo all alone. at least i got nyquil

Yes, but I was recording, not partying. So I filled an 808 r4 XL w/ some menthol; didn't do a dry burn, good clean taste and still going (unlike the other revisions w/ primer. Even after dry burning the older ones I still had an off taste for a dozen drags or so). I hit a dry spot every now and then but it mostly wicked well. It is smoother than my other '3ohms' so I'm lead to believe my old ones were probably all over the map and this is closer to the actual ohm level it's suppose to be.

Next up is a prefilled 510 (you're saying these are full r4's bad?) and an empty 510 (you're saying these are frankensteins minus the glue?).

Hmm I was hoping the new ones would work better at 3.7v. Sounds like another job for PTB.
BR is insane , i think he needs his meds, somebody get the nurse, the r4 3.0 at 3.7 rocks.
Hah, agree w/ 'bad', so far so good on 3.7.

That seems to be the one snag in ordering these from U.S. suppliers. Most of them don't know what ohm's they have so it's still luck of the draw.
Yes, I'm trying to get answers from some. COV and Vapor Junction knew them but others are confused.

I got my V4's today and while I'm pleased with the fact that they don't leak and seem to be wicking okay, the taste is off. They taste rubbery to me. And it isn't a rubbery taste I can live with. It really bothers me.
Haven't had this yet myself but have only tried one.

yes the prefilled isa full r4 with ry4 juice and they showed up at 2.9 ohm, worked very well.

the empties are semi r4(bastomizers) minus the glue pyramid. and should be at 2.9 to 3.0

Ahh, ok. My prefilleds in the kit say 'Marlboro' 6mg. The Vgo is doing great so far, nice device.

Ok, will check tomorrow. the 'promegrante' is cleary an E1; same size/look as a regular carto but I'll crack it open tomorrow. The others look like the same packaging as E2's but I'll check them too.

Hey Badkolo,
You don't know me but you have had a big influence on my vaping life.
I have read every thread on E2 cartos , both of the big ones and all the scattered ones as well.
Some I have read several times. I have become obsessed. I have R3's and they work perfect now with your helping mods.
Thanks mate.
I have just ordered a Tekkeon mod after your Vid review. My first mod as I have been happy so far with my Ego-Riva e-cigs.

Thanks again for your tenacity.

If someone is looking for another USA source, Volcano ecigs is carrying the R4 now and supposedly have quite a few in stock. They just got them in this last week so they should be the latest and greatest.

Chuck;
Are the ones they list "MAGMA Re-fillable Cartomizer - 5 Pack" e 4's? doesn't say anything about "revision# "Would luv to try a pack. They 510's?

Hi everyone. I have been reading most of this thread in the hopes that this experiment will come to fruition soon. I see it still has a ways to go! :) I however still have my ce2's that I bought from Nav a long time ago and I love them. Here's the thing. I just washed them and noticed that the coils are really gunked up. I know thatthe cleaning process was posted here but trying to find it would be an impossibility so can someone repost it?

the good thing about the e2 cup design is that the coil is exposed for cleaning.

I'm not sure that just dry burning will do. Is there more to it? They still work but I would like them to last, seeing that I don't have anymore.

Thanks

As far as the ohm rating on these go, good luck asking the vendors over here. Until Microcig gets their act together the only way our vendors are going to know what they're selling you is to open every pack and meter each carto. Until then the safest route is to just assume you're going to get a 2.6 and be happy if you get something higher.

For those who have been reading this thread and have wicking issues and haven't yet tried PTB.... you really should. It's not that hard to do and makes a huge difference in how these things perform. True, we shouldn't have to do it - but if you're already purchased some of these and they're not working as they should it's worth the time and effort.

Different people have slightly different methods, but if the wick inside the coil has turned black the only way you're going to get it off is dry-burning. You'll need to take the filler ring out to do a proper job. Rinse the carto well, shake out the excess water and dry burn the coil until it stops smoking and turns orange. You might have to repeat this several times but what you want to end up with is a white ash on the coil that can be blown or rinsed off. The wick should at least be a light gray when you get finished.

How's the flavor at 3.7v br?

I told you wrong about the flavor last night, Banjo. I goofed up yesterday and didn't do my housekeeping. After cleaning out the crud between the center post and outer threaded shell of my KR8 batteries, the flavor is better today. I know better than let that happen, but sometimes I just don't do better.

I received my 510xl ce2 r4s yesterday from COV. These are the reported 2.5ohm ones. I've been using it on my 2 Rivas and my 1 900mah eGo.

Right out of the gate, the first one I tried and am still using is very good. No primer, no leaking. Vapor production is good. If I vape too much, I do get that dried funny taste you usually get from CE2s running out of juice, so I have tried to slow down my vaping so it wicks properly. Much better. Also, the taste of the juice I used was practically non-existent in the first few hours. I fell asleep early, woke up, took some drags, and voila. The taste is all there.

Do I want to fuss with PTB modding this to improve the wicking? Not at this time.

I am looking forward to trying the higher ohm ones in the future and hope that will solve my wicking problem.
