Well if one comes across my desk.. I'll be sure to test it. But I don't see myself ordering anything from RS in the near future..... (if ever again).

You're not really believing their advertising now.. are you??? ;)

Don't blame you. No, not believing but curious..lol...it's a nice unit regardless but I'd love to know. Might have to send you one after a while to test.

And they'll even work a bit better if you drill a hole through the inner filler chamber... straight up toward the mouthpiece opening.

A 510 whistle tip can also be cut to fit. It has two removable pieces, so no drilling is required. The resulting open tip is large enough for dripping.

The vendors here are going to have to list ohm choices on their websites before I'll even think about ordering from them. I don't need anymore 2.6 ohm cartos... I have plenty.

I'm exactly in the same place as you I think. I want something simple and efficient to replace my smoking habit with. If they get these cartos right I'm there. :)

I whole-heartedly agree!

BTW...I decided to go to the Royal Smoker site to see what they had to say about the ohms, and they are recommending the lower ohms for the 510s. Maybe that's what has guided e-liquid.cn to only offer the regular size cartos in the lower ohms?

BanjoMan - thanks for the LTB tips. Bits of the inner ring crumbled off in the end. It's an M Series - so has an extremely narrow gap between the cup and the wall (about 0.5mm). I don't think this model can be modded in this way.

It can, but it's quite a pain to do. You'll need to make the PTB plugs about 2/3rds as thick, and they're harder to get in because of the tight working space. I did two and while the difference in flavor was quite noticeable, it tested my patience. :)

FYI, it turns out Volcano e-cigs does have them. They're also discussing them on their forum, although we're light years ahead of them they're figuring it out. Don't think I'll join another forum (already on three) but who knows...lol

BTW, after glancing on their forum, it appears these are lower ohm 510's. Not clear if they're r4 or not. I could have missed that though..

If you're talking about these guys I didn't see them...

They had theirs listed as 3ohms for the 510, 808, and 401. They were r3 and are all but sold out. He is planning to get r4 I think when they are all the real deal.

'banjo'; have you not tried these new r4's? So far I'm impressed. 'bad' was getting ohm readings close to 3 on the 510's too. 2.9 I think.

Truthfully, bad offered to send me some but I didn't want to impose on him. I'll probably order some of my own soon...

Yep I've seen that. For people who love 5-6v vaping those might just be the ticket, but I've tried plenty of them and they're just too harsh for me at 3.3-3.7v.

I have heard smokers say that they didn't like ecigs because they were not strong or harsh enough.

you can get good performance with the lower restitances (but you may need non-standard, lower voltages probably wouldn't you?), but they should be available in the range of 2ohms, 2.5ohms, and 3ohms

... They still work but I would like them to last, seeing that I don't have anymore.

Thanks

We also want the cartos to last, so they should make the top half totally able to be unscrewed off the carto.

oh, ok; well I do agree that they should be made in all 3 ranges, low, med., and hi
but they should also be available with the tops unscrewable

Bad, this is what I meant last night; this is your carto test, and notice the arrows.
the e4 that i got had no gap at all where the arrows are because they put those coils on the ends flush against the cup,
and it was causing them not to heat up as much

My R4 808d also has 6 loops, while the one you tested above (R3?) in this pic only has 5...

Question? I still have another r3.5 left and the last one I used died yesterday AM. It was working perfectly and I decided to clean it. I rinsed it under hot water, shook as much water out as I could and did a dry burn. The coils glowed very nicely. I then re-filled it, put it on my 900mah eGo. It went for about 5 minutes and dropped dead.

Did I do anything wrong?

Any input would be appreciated so I don't kill the one I have left, or any of the r4s that I have.

Thanks in advance!

Dry burning shouldn't hurt your carto as long as you're not keeping it hot for long periods at a time. Once you get that first orange glow switch to pulsing it on/off doing shorter burns (5 seconds give or take). Do that until the gunk on the coil has turned mostly gray/white.

I've only lost one E2 during a burn (it was a loooong burn). The rest just "dropped dead" like you said. I never dissected one to see what caused it, but I assume it's just a case of the coil wire reaching the end of it's useful life and breaking connection somewhere. Some are made better than others.

Thanks again BanjoMan for your help. The burns were carefully less than 5 seconds. I did get lucky with this carto though as it worked for a whole 3 days! The first two I had out of that box were defective from the get go, the third is missing in action.

I'm wondering now if filling it with a regular 18 gauge syringe might have severed a wire? I cannot use those pitiful plastic fillers that are included. They just get squished when I use them.

It's like a roller coaster ride that is never ending! With twists and dips, but it is worth it for the occasional thrill of a few good vapes! laughing!

Right now I'm taking a break from my rev4. The vanilla juice I have in there is getting feeling dry and is becoming flavorless. I'm using my messy ego mega cart but at least it's tasting relatively good (waffles)!

Thanks again!

PS...been meaning to say, gorgeous banjo!

I doubt it's your syringe. I drip fill all of mine now and I still lose at least one a week.
