I know everyone is going to have their own way of using these that best suits them, but I personally like to run these XL's with the filler cap off because it's so much easier to refill that way. That means setting up every new carto with a little PTB to keep it from leaking but it's easy to do, helps with the wicking and lasts a long time.

I have enough E2's here to last me awhile so I won't be ordering again anytime soon, and if anyone comes out with a quicker fix for the leaking that doesn't include putting that shower cap back on I'm willing to try it, but for now I'm happy. :)

hmm so this is silica rope, ok is this what we need scottbee, if so ill order 3 types of the braided one to see which is best.

only one is 99% silica the others not sure and not all have the same temp resistance, so this is really confusing to me..

this company also has silica rope and in the pdf catalog they have the sizes we need High Temperature Rope: Heat & Flame Resistant Silica Rope - Knitted Twisted Braided

Bad...here is what the silica rope and sleeve looks like from MSC ..I imagine its the same at McMasters. I used both companies when I was made orders as a machinist...MSC would be faster for you probably. Do not get the fiberglass stuff!! I just got the 4 types to experiment with. The silica rope is more like a cottony texture and the sleeve is a straight filiment type...I use both on different applications. Here is their link....

ALSO.....I would add in the special instruction box when ordering that you want clean pieces....and I gently wash and sterilize with PGA and dry before unweaving or cutting it.

that silica sleeve looks like the winner

Yea the sleeve works good for inside of coils...I tuck tiny pieces of the rope under atty bridges and into the coil to supplement wicking .

Oh...and yesterday by email Kristy at RS said they will send my XL order with no primer, no problem...dunno if it will be Rev4 or not!

Yankee802;
My order from e-liquid.cn has finally shipped, and I belive they are R3. I hope they are at least as good as these, if not better, and that I get them sometime this month.

Yankee802 how long did you wait before e-liquid.cn has finally shipped your order ? When did you order your e2 ?

I order mine on saturday but it still in processing !

Thanks

Bad there is nothing wrong with the wick INSIDE the coil, that one you want straight and you want liquid to be able to travel at high speed from point a to point b.

If you need more wick, just add another strand of existing wick.

The braided one may do better at the 90 degree turns OUTSIDE the cup, and that is all, anywhere else, I don't know if it will slow down the liquid too much.

Once the carto is almost empty, what's in the wick will be what's left, and only a certain amount of liquid will be able to travel up to the coil, why? Well, because as the liquid gets depleted, it still spreads itself thin inside the wick, but when you have too little liquid in the coil part, you begin to dry burn it, so that's why I think NO WICK inside the carto is better, because there will be no liquid trapped there when the carto is empty. If you must have wick INSIDE the carto, but OUTSIDE the cup, have you at least experimented with only a 1" section, instead of all those big loops they have, sometimes even misrouted?

anyway, I just got here minutes ago and yes, McMaster-Carr has some fibers,
http://www.mcmaster.com/#silica-rope/=8rgia9

But the cartos have way too much wick, much of it misrouted near the air stem and wires, so have you tried to simply wrap another section of wick into the slotes yet?

v1john, thats what i said, cut the wicks off at the slits then add the new flat wick into the lots and a little down into the tank, this way its similar to the ptb i made, cut off wick but still some at the slits touching the other wick just like it touches the ptb now. no i have not packed the slit with wick but i i will try that too.

pm2006, the inner cap u mean?? u a flat head screwdriver and pry it out carefully from the middle hole, try to get under it and pop it out.

i still use ptb just to place some on either side, this centers the cup and stops any leaking until the new ones arrive.
but with this flat briaded wick form posts above, that is hollow and might be the perfect wick to replace the ptb, so while its flat we can stuff it in the slit and since its wide it can act like the ptb.

im not talking about the coil area vjohn, place the braided new wick where the ptb would be and in the slits
it will only touch the wick like the ptb does now

when we add ptb its shoots juice properly to the coiled wick.
so this braided wick since its flat and hollow can silimulate the ptb and if people want can extend into the tank.

i rather have wick in my e2 then ptb

Nicotime, you said you have this braided silica wick, can you do this test with it or can i buy some off you. or can you give me the link to the actual buy link??

this stuff, we must test this stuff.lol
