What is the ptb on the slots fixing, is it fixing the slit issue, is it fixing the wick issue, i dont know
This is the Key to solving a problem. Understanding Exactly what the problem is. And what changes effect the system.
Leaking: Seemed that the smaller slits, plastic cup design didn't leak. So was leaking caused by the slits getting larger? The seal changed to silicone instead of harder plastic? Or was it that the ceramic cup is more porous that plastic? Or some factor of all three?
Wicking: The amount of wicking is something that has be constant. So the design changes didn't seem to help or hurt wicking. The only thing that helped was adding a filler material outside the cup at the slots. So if MiT doesn't want to add something like PTB to the outside of the cup, which I agree that they shouldn't, the wick shape and configuration needs some attention. I have said all along that the wick geometry is what needs to be considered. Hollow tube? Woven? Braided?
I just don't think single strands of wick material, which can lay flat when bent around sharp corners is the answer. But MiT needs to step up to the plate and do some testing on their end with different shapes and sizes of wick.
Ease of refill: Face it. No One wants to use a syringe. And since the cup seal alss functions as a guide to keep the center post on center, that seal is going to be integral to the design in some configuration.
The simplest thing would be to relieve the sharp corners on the cup and seal ID. Putting a .010" radius on the ID edges of the cup seal would do wonders.
Harshness: I think that RS/MiT might have allready addressed this be dividing cartos into ohm ranges. I have One E2 carto that is sooth as silk with Pineapple juice. Another carto with the same juice tastes like I'm vaping bleach. I think it is a variation in ohms. Dry burn one and it is a nice happy glow. Dry burn the other and it is a Violent white hot blaze.
Customer Satisfaction: RS/MiT has to get someone over there that can write a sentence in English. They also need some type of return policy and should make good with all the people who got stuck with there products that didn't work on a marginal level.
These cartos are going get worked out sooner or later. I'm just not sure by who. RS/MiT, Us or Some Other company that has their act together enough to make a carto that works right without mods.
