Well, I got some of the r4's in the mail today from CoV. I am using them on an eGo, without any of the inner rings/plugs. Earlier I found that using the rings/plugs caused wicking issues. Now I am thinking that it is probably not due to the rings/plugs, but because these are not the 3.0 or 3.2's that badkolo has been sending out (if I remember correctly, CoV is sending out 2.6 or something like that).

If I hit it quickly one after another, it is definitely not wicking fast enough. However, if I wait for a minute or two between hits, there are no dry spots and it tastes nice and fresh.

Tomorrow I will try it again with one of the inner rings/plugs (or maybe both). I did find that the wick was really scrunched down in the slots, so I fluffed them up and that seemed to help, also.

yeah 2.5, 2.6 ohm aint gonna cut it with the wicking(but perform ok on variable lower voltage). 2.9,3.0,3.1 ohm seem to be the perfect combo for the voltages we like.
u should have messaged me and i would have sent you a sample of the real deal. ill see if i have an extra one or 2.

That seems to be the one snag in ordering these from U.S. suppliers. Most of them don't know what ohm's they have so it's still luck of the draw.

Um, I think I did message you a couple times, bad. LOL I would really love to try out the "real deal" as even with the minor problems I am having with these from CoV, I am REALLY liking them a lot. I'll message you again. :D

CoV also has a filler bottle (60ml with metal filling tube attached) from microecig. The filling tube fits perfectly into the tiny holes, and negates the need to use those flimsy plastic filler thingies. The only problem with this manner of filling is that there is no way to know how much juice you are putting in since you can't see through the cap that covers the cup. It does work well for filling without that cap, though, as the filling tube fits easily next to the cup.

No problem, my friend. I figured you were getting blasted with PMs (note, do not read that as PMS), and that I got lost in the shuffle. I messaged you. You really are a stand up kinda guy--Nyquil and all. :D

Bad, no, it was the dang coil loops that they mispalced
Now I wonder if it even cracked the poor little cup
It might be hard to tell, too, now that the cup is in a sleeve

Hey guys. I'm far from a technical expert, but thought I'd throw my two-cents in here...

I got my V4's today and while I'm pleased with the fact that they don't leak and seem to be wicking okay, the taste is off. They taste rubbery to me. And it isn't a rubbery taste I can live with. It really bothers me.

So, I guess it's back to the previous version and badkolo's ptb mod...which is just fine with me.

Mine tasted kind of funny (I have only used one thus far as I just got it today). After filling it a couple times, that weird taste is gone. Give it time, or rinse it and dry burn to see if that makes a difference. As I said, that weird taste I found in mine is totally gone now (I got mine at 4pm and I noticed that taste was gone around 10pm).

Pheisty are you sure they're V4's? Did you get them from a US supplier?

did u give it a quick dry burn before use, and do you know what ohm it is.
also stick a pin or toothpick down the side of the outside of the cup, if its snags on the new sleeve its a r4 if not then its not.

and lastly, i would use that one for a few minutes, dont inhale it, just to see, seems some are saying they get better with use, dont know why that would be but just letting ya know

ok so like i said so far for me unmodded they are working good for me, used for 3 days and no real complaints other then what i mentioned.
so i ptb modded one, but becuase of the new sleeve, i folded the ptb only once the long way not twice, and then only once down, not twice, so its half the layers, then i tucked it in but with the folded flap facing the metal wall and not the cup so it wont get snagged on the sleeve as i tuck it down. fille dit up and WOWOWOWOWOW.

so while the r4 works well and ill use them unmodded nothing will come close to the ptb. im not a fan of the main inner plug but the center plug backwards works just fine .

update: found a bad r4, doesnt taste right but ill inspect it later.

phiesty, if its a 510, its possible its not the full R4, if thats the case then there is silicone by the wires which could be giving you that taste. there is no silicone in the r4 because the sleeve goes over the cup covering the wires.

Well, I got them from COV, and Bruce swears that these are the real deal. They are the 510's, though. I'll do a check tomorrow when I'm not so freaking tired. ;)

And thanks for the advice, y'all. I will try doing dry-burns, refills, etc before I give up on them entirely.
