Thank you Bill Godshall, I have followed your news and truthful spokemanship for the three years that I have vaped. I am sickened by this news, but at the same time hardly surprised. I have noticed this pre-game blitz, by the constant media attention given lately to the sink hole well of ANTZ for several weeks with much anticipation and disgust as we who know the truth could possibly have. With the FDA's Deeming only couple of weeks away!

Is there a list that breaks down (by state) which representatives/senators are pushing this anti-vaping legislation? I ask because I want to be aware if any of them are from my state, so I know who NOT to vote for in upcoming elections. Thanks! :)
This is the closest thing I have to a list...
Three Senators Send Letter to FDA on Other Tobacco Products
Five Senators Urge the FDA to Regulate E-Cigarettes

Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.)
Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.)
Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)
.... Durbin (D-IL)
Jack Reed (D-RI)

The Bottom Line inquiredThe only members of Congress who have urged FDA to impose the "deeming" regulation (which would ban e-cigs once again unless FDA specifically exempts the products from several Chapter IX regulations) and other unwarranted regulations for e-cigs are several liberal Senate and House Democrats. These Senate Dems have also introduced legislation to tax e-cigs at the same rate as cigarettes. But before the next election, we need to urge members of Congress to prevent the FDA from once again banning e-cigs, and from imposing other regulations on e-cigs that would ban nearly all of the products and eliminate nearly all e-cig companies.
(one exception from my State of Michigan) John Dingell Rep. who opposes Obama Care it's strange.

well so much for the USA being built on capitalism and a free market place. the Internet should help in the acceleration of the market place, not the banning of sales. I think it's a shame that people out there that have started a successful business and do a great job will suffer the most, to me that's just the opposite of this so called "American dream" especially these days when jobs are even hard to find.

I couldn't agree more.. we have an industry that has created thousands of jobs. This is angering on so many levels... I'm not sure they could ever ban the hardware though.. it's like vaporizers for "tobacco use"... we know what they are for. The real war is on the liquid Nicotine and that"s what we have to worry about. Are we going to have to buy it illegally like a drug? It's pathetic that our government bends over for the tobacco lobbyists. You know darn well that e-cigs are not going to be banned totally.. just sold by our friends at big tobacco.

Thank you hlk and I agree that probably the shameful act of vaping will continue... Shame, Blame and Tax... It's a standard that has been in place since the middle of the last century. We are the unlucky group of (addicts) not my definition theirs, that for whatever reason mainly that we use on a consistant basis, nicotine. (not all vapers do... hahahha, only 98% use nicotine in their vape mixtures. ) I like NICOTINE! That creates a need, a need is a demand the supply will be manipulated will meet the demand to whatever profits can be made by those who profit the most. Being DIY due to financial constraints that I personally contend with, if they suddenly outlaw nicotine sales. I am lost unless I grow my own. This is enough to make an ex-patriot, what? My addiction is enough?, it's so fine a line. Are we just addicts that will fabricate endless excuses to mask the nature of a dependency that's what the ANTZ see us as, or... have do we really have a cause that the entire world of the already dead and the next dying smokers need to have available to change the course of history and carnage, that will otherwise ensue? Just having my nightcap, hope I am not off subject? It's very hard for me to overcome the shaming I have endured since smoking over 43 years ago. A lifetime of why are doing that, don't you know how bad it is for you.... are you stupid, un-educated, self-destructive... and on. It's hard to over come the stigma, as a smoker and the hang over towards vapers. This bullying and social casting has been shoved at us all along. When enough of us have had enough, and can see through the illusion of "if only they would understand that I like nicotine?" Too much to wish for probably. I think if this doesn't get us marching in the streets of DC and willing to take the billy club what possibly can anyone of us do? Just be cagey enough to obtain your own nicotine source, whether it be black market and now if they haven't built enough prisons, they can really go to town and make a police state. They will probably shut down ECF (God Forbid). Anything they must do to protect their children from this horrible evil. I am depressed maybe it's the vodka maybe not. I will hope for a brighter tomorrow for all of us, the customers of small business, the people who own them and the jobs they have created for many people that otherwise would be unemployed. May we find solace and hope to go on knowing no one is better than anyone else. It's just easy to point out that where there's smoke there is fire. Hey that's cool, cause there isn't any smoke. Stealth Vaping and being the new "cool counter culture" let the games begin!:vapor::rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:

Lisa: I always enjoy your commentaries/rants/punditry; but this is the best. ECF needs a "double like" button! :toast: :vapor:
I feel like the Nannies/ANTZ are seeing the writing on the wall; as the support for the "War on (some) Drugs" erodes, they just can't help but try to expand it in some other direction. Control over others IS the goal; not what is claimed (protect the children). New horizons/unknown lands---a twisted version of onward and upward, as the bridge crumbles behind them. Like all government exercises, the more it fails, the more the efforts are redoubled.

Someone else (don't remember who) said people can be divided into 2 basic political groups, those who want to control others and those who don't.

Amen!

I am so f ldkjoesiuwoeioh ing disgusted that Republican Senator John Dingell of Michigan is in this pack of money hungry wolves!!!!!!!!!!!
Disheartened and will not ever vote for him again. How rare a Republican that is fighting Obamacare is in favor of THIS![/QUOTE Not only is DingellNOT a Republican, but his Father held that seat before him. Dingell is the longest serving member of the House. He is ancient and was first elected at 29 which means this has been his only job for over 50+years. He supports Obamacare--strongly!

Living in Australia it is difficult to understand American politics. However in Australia we have to pay for three levels of government. Theses being Local, State and Federal. That is an awful amount of politicians to pay for. The problem is that vaping does not fit into a category that can currently be taxed, hence the negative attention. The other issue I see is what is called "the tall poppy syndrome". It comes from people with an attitude of if I don't like it it should be banned or we cannot have you enjoying something, we must stop it. We have the same problem here at the moment. Last year the federal government cut the duty free cigarette allowance to basically one packet, the lowest in the world I think. Their reason stated was for health reasons, the real reason was that they made another $600,000 000 in revenue.
We have had here an attempt to ban bull bars, trying to ban 4X4s from central Sydney. The banning of firearms e.t.c. It seems that we will always have these idiots that want to control or change other people's lives. The thing is vaping is using an electronic device which heats a liquid. These liquids can be bought prefixed or you can buy the individual items, this cannot be stopped as most if not all the items are actually food products. As many people use vaping as a method of stopping tobacco smoking, I cannot understand the controversy surrounding it.

I know this is a moot point but to me just the idea of regulating something as a tobacco product that contains no tobacco doesn't make sense. They need to at least come up with a different name if they are going to push this through. If they don't have to, that would serve as an even more pitiful sign of the times!
