Just a heads up. If you order more than 1 pack of the Vortex, and you want an adapter you will need to order them separately unless you want as many adapters as packs. I found this out yesterday when my total wasn't what I was expecting. Unless it has been fixed, it will order the same amount of adapters as packs you order.

I should add, I caught it before I finished checking out.

So this means I got the same number of bottles with blunt needles and sealer caps as the number of Vortex boxes I ordered? Awesome!!

Hey
jccleaver....i am the southwest burbs in chi town...howdy neighbor,,,,,just noticed your location :)
do you go to the Windy City vape Meets,,,went to my first one on the 9th

Hi! I haven't been to any of them yet. Usually have to work on Saturdays. I was going to go to the one on the 9th, but I was exhausted and just needed a day to do absolutely nothing. Although, as fate has it, I am off on the 14th of May and am planning to attend that one.

ok , i took my vortex cartos to work with me last night, 1 with clear kiwi strawberry juice and 1 with amber colored caramel candy juice, both 24mg.vaped all night, i'm a havy vaperer, started out with good vape and hit , sweeeeet.
this morning the caramel candy carto put out very little vape, kiwi strawberry was ok, but not like it was when i started out.
1. took apart the caramel carto and found that the coil was gunked-up, did dry burn with it apart, clean up good. put only the clear tube back on , dripped a
couple of drops on atty and vape d it like a dripping method and WOW! wat a hit and mad vapor.
2. the kiwi carto, i just vaped it dry then did dry burn while drawing on it (not inhaling) very lightly,as to not burn out the coil, for about 4 or 5 draws. refilled it with
kiwi strawberry and ....... we got vaaaaaapor. (i didn't take this one apart to do this)
So,conclusion
dark juices have gunked up my Vortex atty.... go clear juice (for me that is)

At reading various threads on atty cleaning here on ECF...
I decided to invest in one of these Ultrasonic Cleaners: Amazon.com: New Trent 2800 Ultrasonic cleaner for Jewelry, Eyeglasses and Dental with Digital Display 1 Pint capacity CD 2800A: Electronics

I'm always needing one anyway...so cleaning attys in it will be a side benifit.

I'll let ya'll know how it does with a Vortex.

It'll be so cool if we can just drop a hand full of Vortex in one of these at bed time and wake up to a fresh atty ready to juice and go :)

I looked at that one and noticed it had a 3 minute auto-shutoff. That may be long enough, but I don't know. It isn't something that needs to wait overnight for anyway in this case.

What is ALF?
...

Alf was a loveable stuffed character on a TV series of the same name from the late 80's.

I have no idea why people call the poly filling inside a Vortex "Alf"?

I think if you Ultra-Sonic-ed a carto for 8 hours you would come back and find that the wick was gone. They clean remarkably fast.

Amy41996 - Alf was one of my favs also.

True...I've seen where some people run multipe cycles...possibly changing the water each cycle, etc...

I'll try different things. The point is having something more or less automatic and easy on the lifestyle...and not having to take apart a good carto that just needs a little bath.

zoi,
Nice 80s flashback with the ALF photo LOL :)

Please note the Vortex ALF is not filler. It's just a thin bit of material to act like a seal/gasket and prevent leaking.

Good to know. I actually don’t have any Vortex’s yet. As a veteran of the E2 revisions, I held of on buying some until I saw some reviews on them first. Very glad to hear that all but a few people like them.

A member has been generous enough to offered to send me a pack to try for Free but I keep telling him I’ll pay for them. Some people just have a good heart when it comes to things like this.

I posted this in the other thread.

I pulled out the wicking material that wraps around the carto that feeds the 2 wick points on the sides of the carto. Initially for 2 - 3 hits it was better. I started to get dry hits again. I left it sitting on my desk loaded onto a Riva, standing up overnight. When I tried it this morning I only got dry hits from it.

I'm glad I was skeptical enough to only buy one pack.

I really did want these to work, and really thought they would.
