Day 2 Vortex review...

I use egos, for this you need the adapter. Curious how the 510s will be. Juices are very thin (low vg). I am a hot boxer, meaning I'll take 3-4 hits on one burn. To me only the 3rd hit is when my egos heat up enough. Now on the to review.

First fill is awesome... But from there the flavor and vapor goes south. After 5 refills, no leaks of any kind, tips fit good, etc... I disassembled the first one for cleaning and I think the design flaw is the wick. There was so much "crude around the wick that I'm sure the liquid is being constricted. I was able to clean most of it and dry burn, but the flavor never came back. If only the wicks were replaceable. (This is the same with the CE2-XLs, but they allowed for juice flow around the wick when the atty ring was removed.) No leaks after re-assembly. The other issue was my egos. First I think they are dying, second, voltage drop. With the atty so far from your mouth you loose a lot of heat. If my batt kept a constant 3.7v I'm sure the carto would function better. (insert forehead slap here)

I will be cutting the outer tub by a 1/4. 2 reasons, I like a squat cart and with the adapter/tip these are too long. Second, I think the distance from the atty cools the vapor too much. I will leave the inner tube at length so it continues through the tip for added sealing around the "tank" area. Will post results later.

All in all, I think the idea is great and with minor improvements (and a better setup ) They will work out great.

Just a quick question:

Everything I own (ecig wise) has been, in the last week, either breaking or breaking or dieing.

I thought what a great time to try something new!!!

Is every type of new styled 501 Vortex, FLüX MaXimizer Giantomizer, etc. out of stock?

Any info. for me... :)

Looks like the black/stainless fluxos are still in stock. I like mine though I always overfill them because I can't tell how much juice is still in there :)

Amy, since you've made it for four months, you'll easily make the one-year mark, and beyond! I started smoking at 14 or 15 and was smoking 2+ packs a day until I was almost 62. Vaping was a godsend for me. If it weren't for vaping, I'm sure I'd still be puffing away at ciggies, no matter how badly they were affecting my health.

Again, congrats on your four month milestone. The hardest part is over for you!

Trip report: Its been almost a week and I'm using the same Vortex I pulled from the pack without any problems or loss of flavor/vapor. My wife on the other hand had two leak from the tube but a little Teflon tape fixed them right up (both of us use KBV Cinnamint 70/30). I think it was just an adhesive issue which has already been addressed. Plastic is still crystal clear and no deterioration from the juice.

While I love the big honking silicone tip for sitting around I do replace it when out and about with the CE2 rubber caps and occasionally the drip tip which has also been addressed.

Overall I think this product is fantastic and will be my go to carto/clearo/however you classify it vaping machine. Now I may have been extremely lucky in pulling a good one right off the bat and I'm sure there is a "Tastes like Burning" Vortex lurking around the corner, but it won't stop me from purchasing more of these. Great product which I'm certain will only get better.

Keep up the good work guys and don't let the naysayers get you down

Here is a great review by dave q&c associates

couldn't agree more. on my epower it's the beez kneez! still going strong 6 days now! I did clean mine once and removed the alf but no leaking. I filled one with peppermint and that one did leak but 1 outta 3 aint bad at all for the price. plus the liquid's really thin. On a side note, my roomate filled up with the same liquid in a vortex on a 510 batt and his was less potent than mine, so I can say the epower gives you a stronger vape (more amperage maybe) than a regular 510 batt.

Just a note from what I experienced while we were testing these. I initially would start out on a 3.7v ecig. As day went into three days I noticed a slight decrease in performance naturally so I swapped it on to my eGo pass thru and performance returned. My hunch was that, like all cartomizer and atomizer products, the more you use them in between cleaning the more the effective resistance can go down and, if you were using it initially on a 3.7v device, that lower effective resistance will affect things. But switching out to a lower voltage device can bring things back to 'normal' until you can get time to, if you want to bother, cleanign them...just a tip...

oh for got to mention...when i ordered the vortex, ialso ordered a 510-to-808 adapter...when i screw the adapter on my riva, the battery starts blinking...anyone come across that? i tried pulling the posts up on both the carto and the battery and it stopped blinking for a second, then it started again. bummer...i wanted to use these on my ego and riva.....to paint a clearer picture: if i push the button on the battery and start screwing the adaper on, it starts blinking when its fully screwed in, if i unscrew it a little, the light on the button doesnt light up at all. and yes...other 510 cartos work just fine on them so its not the battery. any ideas?

for those of you that have tried the v-tex AND the fluxomizers...(stainless and/or black) how do these compare to them? i have the vortex's and would also like the fluzomizers but like many, im worried about the leakage and wicking problems on them. can someone shed some ligh on this for me please? thanks

I have both I'm swapping back and forth between them. I guess the obvious answer is you can see your juice with the vortex and it's SUPER easy to fill. The fluxos aren't bad to fill once you get a syringe with a needle, but I like not having to use a needle. I do use a pipette to fill the vortex because I'm a little clumsy.

The metal fluxos do feel sturdier, I've only had leaking problems with one of them because I took it apart and there's no inner gasket on the metal ones like the clear ones, so they may leak (it's a small leak and only one of the two I messed with do it). I posted earlier with my leaking experiences on the vortex, so that's good but I do wish I could keep a drip tip on them all the time as the caps are super loose.

Burning wise, I do get a little burn on the fluxos if I back to back hit them. A short rest of say 10-15 seconds in between hits usually takes care of that.

I've gotten burnt taste with the vortex but it doesn't to seem to happen so easily, and it seems to happen more with an ALF than without.

As for HW, I'm using an eGo USB PT, my juice is generally 80/20 or thereabouts, though I do have a 100% VG cinnamon that does well in a metal fluxo... don't try that in a vortex :)
