YIPEE!!! Home at last
No wait I have got it .....Now introducing ...... VORTEX TRIPLE COIL BLACK HOLE. if you can vape it fast enough the black hole will clean the coils if you try to dry burn it though do not look for the orange glow of the coil. BTW why is it dual coil....shouldn't it be dual coils. that had really been bugging me thanks

Hi Cool- all cartos are essentially disposable. Three days is an somewhat arbitrary figure, estimating the time before you can either move on to a new one or disassemble and try to clean it, etc, which is entirely up to you.

Thank you, dannoman.

I've not had success with disassembly, reassembly. They seem to empty through the hole at the battery end.

Do you have any information to share about possible enhancements in the next run of Vortexes?

Are extended use and low maintenance possibly in the cards?

For me, it's a great vape via the Vortex.

so , these cartos and others alike are all disposable after a couple of days, hmm. so, like smoking ciggys, smoke the tobacco and throw the filter away, ok i get it.
so, $8.00 a pack of smokes a day or two, . $8.95 to $13.00 a week for cartos. still expensive

I'm still working on 2 Vortex at well over 10 refills each. After 5 I did pull out the ALF and clean them...but still going strong.
I have fluxomizers that have lasted months before....but again I open them up and burn them off every now and then.
I've got polyfill cartos that lasted up to 2 weeks till the filler in them started tasting like dirty socks...

Even if I didn't have time to clean and mod the stuff and just tossed them at the first sign of trouble (which I do at busy stages in life)...I'd still save money over smoking.

So mine finally arrived to Australia today, I've tried two so far. Using a fully charged v4l diamond shorty I filled the first one with Juicewhore ultimate pipe (50vg/50pg) and I'm getting perfect draw and tonnes of vapor, way better than v4l carts but the taste is wrong, sort of like burnt or chemical, its kind of hard to describe but it's not pleasant. Second one I filled with gotvapes choc mint (pg), this tastes better but I'm still getting a bit of the burnt chemical taste.

Edit: I just tried it with some batteries from elitevaporworks (bloog type) and it's perfect, no burnt taste, the v4l batteries were definitely the problem. These are great cartomizers, if all that is fixed on the next batch is a bit tighter fitting cap so I can pocket them they'll be perfect!

I've found that removing the ALF (that strip wrapped around the base) has taken care of that flavor for me ... some of my juices just won't wick through it. Be very careful about putting it back together (I rotate the plastic cylinder a little bit once pushed all the way down to attempt to get the remaining adhesive to re-adhere).

And as for the poster getting leaking through the battery hole, see if you can re-seat the inner tube --- my guess is juice is getting past the wick too quickly then draining out the bottom. Get it seated a little lower (not too low, you'll pinch the wicks) and that should resolve the issue.

Still using my first two Vortex without ALF...

After the tenth 'full' refill I've stopped counting. Also here lately I've not been filling it all the way, but enjoying measuring out enough drops to last an hour or so then drip in a new flavor.

Today I got a Darwin and now I'm able to dial up the heat.
Wow :)

With this well burned in and gunked up Vortex, it's showing a resistance of around 3.1 ohms. Being able to bump up the voltage really makes this Carto shine for me.

So far I've kept it under 5v (in typical USB passthrough range). It's quite good at 5v, and for me the sweet spot so far on this well used Vortex is between 4.2 and 5v (depending on the juice...I've tasted 3 today).

I'll try a fresh one right out of the box later tonight if I can to torture with higher voltages.

After tasting these on a VV mod with just a little more heat....I can't wait for the 2.1ohm versions for my eGo batteries :)

im currently using an ego and when i fill up the vortex i get this burn taste.. what should i do?

If it's freshly filled and brand new...give the liquid some time to soak into the anti leak filler then try again. It might take take several primer puffs to get the wicks good and wet and the 'new' taste out (all fresh atomizer coils can give off a little metalic tinge till they burn off the shiny and blacken).

Try that and let us know how it goes.

OK after messing with the vortex and the problems I have had. I took them all apart and rebuilt them and now I don't want to use anything else they are grate.
I put the on the battery and very carefully took the outer tube off than the inner tube off down to the atty part. I clean them the same way by dropping the atty part in some vodka than doing dry burns till i get just red coils again and it like new. I fluff the wick some and put the inner tube back on but not all the way down leaving just a tinny bit of space so the wick does not get totally pinched and that did away with any burning issues for me. I got some of the Teflon plumbers tape and used that around the part the outer tube fits on and this stopped all the leaks. I also cut about 1/8 off the top plug so it wasn't so top heavy and now it not so easy to knock it off or fall out (kinda looks like my Bloog max fusion tips now). They are working grate now and just would like to see a tighter top cap.
I don't know if it would be cost affective to manufacture but, what i think they should do is place a permanent metal thread in side the bottom of the outer tube so u can screw it down onto the atty to seal it when you want for easy access. That would be perfect, and a good top cap. Other than that I love them now that i had time to mod them.
