That revised version just looks like an impact on the top cap would split those two glass sections in half in a flash.
A lot of people don't have that kind of disposable income, which is where these clones help out. Also, some of the higher end pieces can be impossible to attain when you actually have the money to do so. Also, some people like me, like trying new things.. for example i own a couple hercules, but also the ithaka it is cloned after. Just something to think about...
Also "support your local business" is wonderful - when you are paid enough by these biz to afford their overpriced products.
i'm very intrested in the model. has anyone got there's yet? anyone know of any group buys going on that are still open?
there is group buy going on but I'm afraid I can't mention it in here, and I can't PM you on my phone for some reason but, do a google search for fogger v2 and the forum should come up 
it's going to cost me $52 with shipping but, if it works as good as it looks it'll be worth every penny! quite excited about the whole thing.... can ya tell lol
Quite a bunch of talk in the Fasttech forum about the high price their charging, I should probably cancel my order but haven't as yet
You should cancel the FT order if it hasn't shipped. The FT one is the V1. The V2 is MUCH better and already released. FT doesn't have the new version yet.
The V2 is a Pyrex tank instead of Plexiglass so safe for all juices. It also is a top fill so you don't have wasted tank space. They even added an air flow control to it.
There are some Co-ops going for the V2, but I cannot link them due to forum rules. Although, I think someone linked it on the Fasttech forums.
So I have 2 coming in the mail and understand it's set up for ss mesh but was wondering if I could set these up with cotton or ecowool and how would it affect flavor and performance?
im thinking it will be a less chance of flooding with silica type wick but better flavor with SS. when i get mine i'll be trying both and then a SS silica hybrid.
Thanks for all the info guys. I think the v2 is the way to go for sure.... are both versions made by the same people?
