Bro, you're trying so hard to vanish the spheroid top cap of the Spheroid for a long time now :D
Thank you very much for your suggestions and I appreciate the time you dedicate to illustrate an alternative approach!

If you find space to put that without lengthening the atty or inserting tin foil AFC rings, then it's done!

I told you P, I think my Delrin AFC insert idea would work.

Couldn't it be done the same way as the heron?

It could be done, but if you consider the analogy from 22 mm to 16 mm, you'll result with a fragile AFC ring, so thin that you'd be able to deform it with your fingers.

Yeah, now I see it. And now I also see my question was answered before I even posted my question. Suppose one should read to the end of the thread before writing out of helplessness.:p
The heron tank has a distinct top and a distict bottom. I've NEVER had it upside down.

I guess it would take some work designing the underside of posts to fit inside 12mm of space, i think a 1mm thick AFC ring and a 1mm inner ring base would be sturdy, especially if it's made of 316SS. Wouldn't it?

As I said to my wife last night, picking up shards of glass from the sink, and about to order an ibtank replacement. Damn, says I, I didn't want to get a new tank until the Greek one was available. (I call GP and Leo stuff the Greek stuff when speaking to her, since she doesn't vape and it's all Greek to her. Sorry couldn't resist.) It's on my shopping list for May, hope I get in before they're sold out.
Sorry to hear about the tank. I love my Sophia too. Maybe it was a sign that you should by a GP SnP in Mays Vapour Day. :p

FYI, you get spare tanks when you buy a SnP.

Note, an issue to be careful of is, that air venting from the wrong place on an atomizer of that size will mute juice flavor noticeably as there is no separate interior chamber.

Yes, understood.
As I've been puffing away for the last couple of hours on the Heron, I am still chuckling, redfaced, how I could not have considered that there might be two ends, rather than one end duplicated.
I tend to think that from the moment we need a manual of how to set up an atomiser, then things have become extremely complicated and as modders, we are doing something wrong, but maybe my reasoning is wrong :)

I love the little pranks, like when we putted first time the reverse threaded nut in the switch of the v2.1 and not telling people initially about it and I how responded with a smile in my face to dozens of emails that the switch is faulty and it cannot be opened and whoever tightened it must be a monster. Be sure that this one is pretty amusing too :)

Ah, I take it as a 'no' then. Sad that an engraving on the tank and a flat top cap cannot be introduced. I don't care for a/ny AFC as long as the air-hole was in the 'side' and bigger.

But hey, you are the modder ~ you call the shots!

Calling Perseas:
This is a serious request for a Spheroid in the following format. Pls make it happen sometime soon. Call it the Spheroid v4 and dole it out with the Piccolo v4, Please
happy-067.gif

You do not need Perseas to do this - you proved to be able to do it yourself - in Photoshop :D

And I respect the feedback, keeping a note for everything. There isn't a straight no or yes here, changes have consequences needed to be accounted beforehand. Every change creates new ones. AFC ring: need for space, change to 17-18 mm OD or lengthening the atty, flavour change due to pressure change, needs further changes. CNC Engraving: weakening the tube locally, may need or not to increase the OD. Flat top cap, name change to squaroid. The only sure thing is that every change of the Spheroid will have a negative impact on the current price. GP Heron is an evolved GP Spheroid. Flat top caps are trendy, so everyone has them. Another factor is the production; we want more CNC machines and more time to produce 2 different versions of Spheroid, it's really a complicated story :)

And I am grateful to him for doing it, he provided a rendering for a different concept based on Spheroid and Heron! Qorax loves the Piccolo and we met each other in FB for first time, when he saw the Piccolo. So, when I put myself in his position, I can see his point and vice versa :)

Sorry to bother you perseas, but I'm coming in on a very long thread  I am planning on getting a GP PAPS X and matching atty. The question I have is which one is better looking and operates more efficiently for the PAPS X? Should I get the Spheroid or the Heron? Do both of them have airy draws or does the Heron win out cause it's bigger. Is the Heron have more features than the Spheroid? Also which ring do I need for a SnP and sophia? Do I need a X-ring or X-AFC ring? Last question is does the GPin Silver Plated Springs and GP PAPS X Silver Plated Contacts come with the PAPS X or do I need to buy them separately? Thanks :)

Got the Piccolo in yesterday. There were signs of wear and you could tell that it had not been used for a while.
I mounted it on the drill press with the PNP adapter and gave it a once over with 0000 Steel Wool followed with Never Dull while it was spinning.

It turn out pretty nice. The PNP adapter is an awesome accessary to have IMHO.

Iowa, you are so right. WIth the Spheroid, it is a perfect out and about device.

Thanks once again Idaho. You are the man !!!

Can't wait for V4.

Squaroid - I love it!

Still loving this Heron atop the v3. I'm guessing by noontime I'll need to add juice.
Question: with my first Heron use, I did what was recommended on most of the tutorials I saw, using a syringe to juice up the fluff. Was this mostly to "prime" new fluff, or do you folks refill the Heron this way? Asked another way, will a refill work as well just using the juice bottle or is the syringe method better?

I refill the Heron straight from the juice bottle, slowly, once it primed.
