Just to be sure - that means, there will be no more 2.5 switch in future, right? I really liked these... The 2.5 tubes will be available?

oh - has been answered already...

Thank you Perseas and Idaholandho for the info on the status of the v2.5 switch. I too really, really like the looks of the older switch but I'm an old curmudgeon, I guess. No real explanation but for some reason I really like the looks of the four pressure relief holes in the older tubes, too.

I assume that the discontinuance of the v2.5 switch is for safety reasons so that it is not used on the newer tubes.

Those who browse here may recall that my Heron arrived with one post's screw hole not having been drilled far enough. So using the advice I received here, I built a coil/wick with a longer leg to allow me to wrap it around the screw and make sure it wouldn't loosen. Worked fine. Multimeter liked it.
I place the fluff, syringe in the juice, wet the wick, test. All looks good.
Screw on the chamber cap (the one with the 2 o-rings. Don't attach the top chamber lid, since I'm using a silica loop.)
Push on the tank tube section, and it won't push down to the deck. Said differently: there's a gap between the deck and the bottom edge of the tank tube. My measuring tools are a bit primitive, but I measure the chamber cap (with the 2 o-rings) to be about 7mm high. It was a bit harder to measure the machined out section of the tank tube at its bottom, but I get about 5mm.
    Here are some photos.
Am I doing something wrong, am I missing a part, or, as I suspect was the top tank tube not machined deep enough to be able to accept the full length of the chamber cap? Or could it be one of those times when though there are no stupid questions, this is actually a stupid question?:confused:IMG_0692.jpgIMG_0694.jpgIMG_0696.jpgIMG_0695.jpg

You have the tank on upside down. Flip it and all is good. :p

Oh and don't worry many of us have done this too so you are not alone.

    Calling Perseas:

This is a serious request for a Spheroid in the following format. Pls make it happen sometime soon. Call it the Spheroid v4 and dole it out with the Piccolo v4, Please
    happy-067.gif

Folks, we can run an interest list here if you guys deem it fit. I want one, badly. My Piccolos are begging for it ~ they will remain grateful to Perseas for his support
    respect-063.gif

Also if you could incorporate the same type of AFC as the heron. ;)

Yep. Your tank is on upside down. We've all done it. Take the tank off, note the depth of the lips inside the tank for next time, flip it around, pop it back on, and you're good to go friend :)

Went on a trip the last few days to Louisville KY. On the way back, I had my Paps X & Taifun GT on my lap. I forgot I laid it there and got out of the car. It of course fell and hit the asphalt in the parking lot and rolled a bit. Not one scratch other than some black stuff on the button that came off with my fingernail. Inspected it inside and out. Everything is perfect.

Gotta love that 316 SS and GP craftsmanship.

I would've been more worried about the tank. Glad it's all good.

:facepalm::facepalm::laugh: Not sure how many more face slaps etc. I can fit in.
thanks friend. Of course you were right. My first Heron vape and it's every bit as good as you folks have been posting.

P.S. this is one of those "issues" that exists in our world. No detailed "owner's manuals" like one might get with a smartphone or dishwasher. The top manufacturers, such as GP, do have links to detailed reviews and such, but ya gotta dig and rely on experienced folks sometimes to get help.
P.P.S. this was my second mishap in two days. I got a Sophia a couple of days ago, to use in my cartotank. It is a superb little device. Sadly, while attempting to refill the tank, it slipped out of my hands into my sink. The sink being a farmhouse soapstone one, the tank being glass. The end result being glass shards in my sink and a lonely Sophia.

Sorry to hear about the tank. I love my Sophia too. Maybe it was a sign that you should by a GP SnP in Mays Vapour Day. :p

FYI, you get spare tanks when you buy a SnP.

I tend to think that from the moment we need a manual of how to set up an atomiser, then things have become extremely complicated and as modders, we are doing something wrong, but maybe my reasoning is wrong :)

I love the little pranks, like when we putted first time the reverse threaded nut in the switch of the v2.1 and not telling people initially about it and I how responded with a smile in my face to dozens of emails that the switch is faulty and it cannot be opened and whoever tightened it must be a monster. Be sure that this one is pretty amusing too :)

Bro, you're trying so hard to vanish the spheroid top cap of the Spheroid for a long time now :D

Thank you very much for your suggestions and I appreciate the time you dedicate to illustrate an alternative approach!

Also if you could incorporate the same type of AFC as the heron. ;)

If you find space to put that without lengthening the atty or inserting tin foil AFC rings, then it's done!
