I fixed my TV issue by dumping local cable years ago for DirecTV then dumping DirecTV for Roku and Netflix and such. That was on DSL. No HDTV but I had small TVs anyway.
Now I fixed it even better: no cable, no Netflix (cancelled because new shows like Big Mouth are horrifying), no satellite. I don’t watch TV! And I’m happier overall.
Around $60/month for cable internet plus phone. An old ATT handset plugged into the phone if I ever need a landline in an emergency. The ringer is off.
I still have the Roku and Hulu for the rare shows I do like, mostly cooking shows. I can watch when I want. And rent movies sometimes.
Lately I get movies on DVD from the library. It’s free and Hollywood gets no more of my money.
Usually, I read.
Predictions are that 2018 will see the largest number of people ever cancelling cable. Cut that cord!
