David, another one just went for $37. The power light led was stuck on red but it worked fine otherwise. I put in a last second bid of $32.50 but I was autobid out.David, a used Netgear Nighthawk AC1900, Model R7000 WiFi router on ebay just sold for $51 thru auction. A brand new one on Amazon is selling today for $147.

One with an opening bid of $89 expired with no bids. When you can get one for $37 and $51 in the last hour why would anyone pay $89? DUH! I'm watching several others. I think I'm going to spring for one. I'll keep an eye for a bit and get a flavor for what a good buy would be. I really want to check out this AC wifi technology. My router/wifi has got to be 10 years old and I have to believe I can do better. It works fine but by the time it goes through an extender to the other end of the house it is kind of mediocre to maybe a little better than mediocre. I want GREAT!! Not sure the AC1900 will do it but it's worth a try. Saw a couple vids and a guy with my same internet service was cranking way better speeds than I was with my old wifi.David, another one just went for $37. You have a Jurassic router. Sounds like you're beating a dead stegosaurus.I'm still looking at routers. Currently buffer bloat is a problem with my setup. And I do need a modem as well. The only way I could hope to fix my router would be to flash the firmware. Which I have done before and may just try for the heck of it. The worst that can happen is I screw it up. Done that before as well.
That's a cadillac modem. Arris is the brand modem/router/wifi I have now. Nothing special. So are you planning to ethernet-link all of your devices or will you still get wifi? The modem I'm looking at now is this....To get it new is pricey but this used one isn't bad. https://www.amazon.com/Next-Generat...ie=UTF8&qid=1515121601&sr=8-1&keywords=sb8200

What are they claiming your internet speed is?I'll still use wifi. Need it for my phone and laptop. No Ethernet on those. Could use Ethernet on the Roku but if the wifi works I'll go with that. Which it's doing now. See I don't really know what my internet speed is that I'm paying for. Yet..

If you're going to have all that on a wifi I think I would be more inclined to be a piker on the modem and sink the big loot into the wifi.
