Amazon.com: Bose SoundLink Mini II Bluetooth Speaker, Black: Home Audio & Theater
I've got a tower-style Japanese Pioneer system from my Navy days that is 35 years old and collecting dust. I am seriously thinking of something (Bose, Alexa, whatever...) that is a smaller tabletop system that can deliver a broad range of sound. Maybe even with remote smaller speakers.
Any suggestions...

Last year I bought a Bose SoundLink Mini II. It’s a wireless tabletop speaker with incredible sound. It connects using Bluetooth. Easily pairs with my phone, laptop or tablet. Anything you play from the device will run through the speaker - your own digital music, Pandora, YouTube, etc. You can even use it as a speaker phone

Being Bose, the sound is deep, rich and can go really loud. Amazon still has a few left because apparently there’s a newer model available. $189.80. I prefer the form factor of mine. It’s about 7” x 2” x 2”.

But it’s cheap and the magazine looks very informative AND I get a free insulated soft cooler! How can I turn this down?

You have a great attitude! But I’m with the others. Buy yourself a nice cooler, show your drivers license at the market and save yourself the hounding from AARP! They want to sell you insurance and lots of overpriced junk. :)

had an interesting driving experience about an hour ago...

Im driving west bound I-10 and noticed a set of headlites that seemed a bit out of place... they got closer and I realized some idiot was in the left lane of the westbound side traveling east .....

I moved into the right lane and watched this fool go by at about 70 or so... I was like "White Turkey Feathers!!!" Does this person not understand whats going on??? should have noticed the road reflectors were red, all the signs on the roadside were "backwards", and oncoming traffic on a divided hiway????

Needless to say, on my way back, low and behold there were a couple of state police, 2 wrecker trucks loaded up with what looked like cars, and debris all over the hiway ( both sides of the interstate).... I guess somebody got messed up...o_O

Awful! And weird too, because there’s been at least three other instances of this in the news recently. In two cases it happened in California on the same night, different freeways and AT THE SAME TIME. Both at about 7 pm. The crazy is contagious! Either that or the gubmint is experimenting on us again. Yikes!

No joke: there are some scientists who are warning that the frequencies emitted by 5G will be very harmful to us. The head of the FCC insists that unlike in other countries, the US will be rolling it out without testing its effects because there’s billions to be made in tech innovations that will result from 5G. Meanwhile over at the FDA, they are all about “protecting consumers” by killing the vape industry.

ever get the acid reflux when sleeping and inhale a bit of it??? Good lord, that will wake you up in a micro second and set your lungs on fire.....

Thank goodness that has not happened to me but it does happen to hubby occasionally. He now makes sure he has nothing to eat after 6:00pm.

Yes! This happened to me a few months ago and I never want to feel that again! I couldn’t breathe. I raced to get some baking soda into warm water and downed it as fast as I could. A horrible experience!

LOL - I missed the last one, because I thought it was a "wild weather warning" (the phone emits a long shrieking noise when there's something "important" from the State of Hawaii) I looked out the window. The weather was lovely and I didn't care if they were having showers in Maui. So I didn't bother actually hefting my rear end to get the phone, to see the message. Some warning system eh?

A few videos and news reports (not mainstream news) saying people saw a bright flash and heard a boom in the sky after 8 am in Hawaii that morning. One was a group of 13 tourists and 2 or 3 crew members on a tour boat offshore. Are you hearing anything about that?

I didn't hear anything myself, till Kkay who's a sweetie PM'd me. It sounds odd because no tourist boat goes out 100 miles offshore. However, what they may have been privy to is there's an army base off one end of the isles. So it may have been something to do with them. :)

Happens to me regularly unfortunately. It's amazing that you go from deep deep sleep to bolt upright and feet on the ground in about point zero four seconds. And the acid takes an hour to go away too. Funnily enough, in my case it doesn't seem to matter so much when I eat, or stop eating. Wouldnt wish it on my friends....a few enemies though.....

Oh man. I can’t like that post. You have my sincerest sympathies. The pain in my throat took an hour to ease up. Then it was sore for a full day or two after. I’m so sorry you deal with that regularly.

Morning, Army.

Papaw, a few pages back you asked about re-wicking. My re-wicking is driven by my coils getting gunked up and needing to be dry-burned. If it wasn't for gunky coils, my wicks would last a long time. (I'm using Japanese organic cotton for wicks.)

I only vape HHV e-liquids. I have found that Fresh Grindz is the cleanest burning liquid I've ever used, and that's by a very large margin. I can vape 30ml or more of FG before cleaning and dry burning. And even then, my coil isn't very gunky.

Heavenly Tobacco is second, but it's a distant second. Probably 12 - 15ml of HT before the taste is strange due to a dirty coil.

With Pirates Booty and Legend, it's time for cleaning and dry burning after about 7 - 10 ml. (But they taste so good on a clean coil.)

Good morning.

Daybed was delivered later than expected. They had a delivery a couple of stops before ours and the way the house was laid out, they had a heck of a time getting 15(!) pieces of furniture around entryway walls and doors. Thank goodness our place is open entry and the rooms on either side of the main living space have short hallways. Just angle a bit and go straight through from the hall entrance into the bedroom entrances.

Still have to get mattresses then I can fix it all up for photos. :)

Even though we used measurements and 'mapped' it out, it takes up a decent bit of floor space in the room. I need to rethink some furniture placement. May have to move a bookcase around. Hmmm. This will be fun, I like these kinds of challenges. :D Hubby won't have to do a thing since it is a short bookcase. I can manage it.

Code Dept. strikes again... but this time it wasnt me.. a home sold about 3 months ago ( 1 block over and on the corner) and the new owner was dilligently setting it up for habitation... and in the process he decided an addition would be nice added on to the back of the house...

so he went and formed out a slab ( 12X14), got it poured, let it set a couple of days, built exterior walls and tied into the existing roofline, put on the exterior sheathing, roofing and siding, stripped the old exterior walls of siding, rewired the "new room" and resheetrocked the entire interior, layed down tile.. only thing left to do was the interior door and trim.... probably spent around 10K-15K$ in materials and labor...

since he didnt get a permit, it has to come down... all of it... even has to remove the slab since he didnt put in pilings...

talk about 1 unhappy camper... his neighbor from across the street said... welcome to America...

I'd go with any of the other ones over AARP. AMAC is supposed to be pretty good.
So I had never heard of AMAC, had to look it up. I don’t know anyone that would think of me as conservative politically. Honestly, I never paid much attention to the political implications of these groups. Thought it was sorta like AAA. Just a helpful service. Why can’t things just be simple? Like a discount at hotels and a free cooler?

Thanks for educating me, this senior citizen status in new territory for me.
