So I had never heard of AMAC, had to look it up. I don’t know anyone that would think of me as conservative politically. Honestly, I never paid much attention to the political implications of these groups. Thought it was sorta like AAA. Just a helpful service. Why can’t things just be simple? Like a discount at hotels and a free cooler?

Thanks for educating me, this senior citizen status in new territory for me.
It seems like everything is political these days. It sucks.

The only reason AMAC exists is because AARP became a decidedly left wing , big government lobbying group when they should be apolitical . Yup I hate AARP too , they don't represent my concerns , I don't consider myself conservative , I'm more of a libertarian than anything .

Retic is spot on. AARP became very political and very left wing. Many members in AARP had enough and that's what spawned AMAC. And yes, it shouldn't come down to everything having to be so political.

You’re so right! It’s tragic and it sucks.

Also more libertarian here. My concern is just to be left alone to live a decent and peaceful life. I prefer to practice charity for others on my own. I despise being tracked in every little move I make. There is no truth and therefore nothing we can trust in govt. I could go on and on. But I won’t. Hope you’re still on the mend and able to stay positive. :)

Yes! Politics is as crappy as all the other “entertainment” they feed us. Almost everything is used to divide us. Keep us arguing aggressively with each other while the “leaders” go there merry way and do what they want - mainly taking everything we have. Grrr.

    Good morning!

Mattresses are ordered and will be delivered Wednesday. I couldn't order them beforehand since I wanted to see exactly what the trundle depth was. The mattress we have on the twin bed fits so we just ordered the same.

Today will be shifting things around in the room to make it work yet look good too.

It rained just a bit ago and now the sun is shining. It looks like diamonds sparkling on the screen.

Tried to get a picture but the clouds just keep moving to fast and can't get a good shot of it.

Perfect day to work on inside stuff. LOL

It rained here all day yesterday, sometimes hard. Now the yard is like soup - you walk on it and it goes "squish". Not much happening outside today, maybe tomorrow or the day after when it dries up a little bit.

When we were kids it would have been the perfect day for a neighborhood touch football game in your yard. With a concession stand on the sidelines selling mud pies for a nickel. :)

I decided after AARP supported the "Affordable Care Act" that I would never join their group. It has hardly been affordable, and raised my rates, not lowered them. I lost my doctor. I pay for insurance I cannot afford to use. So AARP turned their back on the seniors, and for that they will never get a penny from me. My out of pocket and deductible also went up thanks to them. I was furious about this, I'll tell you that. I don't want a political senior group, just a group that looks out for the people they supposedly support. I am an Independent, and I am sick of the intentional rift between our people in this country.

We used to play football, baseball and basketball too. Selling mud pies though, that was good. I never thought to sell them. Now I did sell lemonaide to make money to buy candy or a book. Now you need a freaking permit for that or they will shut you down. This was pre-internet days of course for all of us. Times have changed, that is for sure. We would go out early, come in for lunch, go back out until supper time. Be home before dark, or you would be in massive trouble. We had to stick in the neighborhood though. We always had fun, and we used our imagination much more than kids today do. Now they want to be entertained, or they are bored. We made our own games up every day. You can't do that now with your kids, unless maybe you live way out in the country.

Yes! We were sent outside in our tank tops and shorts at 8 am. We shivered on the porch for awhile, then ran around to warm up. By dark when we came back inside, we were sweaty, filthy, tired and happy. Good times. Good times.

In the four years of ACA my monthly premium went up from $318 to $568 and then they cancelled my policy that I had for 17 years and wanted to put me in a "comparable" plan for $865/month. What!!! Just confirms what I have said my entire life. When the government gets involved they screw it up, royally!

Oh, and in those four years I had one colonoscopy (that they told me to get). And I think maybe one doctor visit (if that).
