Hubs will be home soon. Tomorrow or Monday if all continues to go well. The IV is out and they are giving him his regular pain med now. He looked good today and is eating solid food. Had pot roast this evening. I have fingers crossed.

    Good morning!

Been sucked into the world of Olympics watching.

We delivered our first set of triplets at work yesterday. I’ve been organizing it since December. I’m happy to say everything went smoothly, even though it was early, not when we were planning it and on a weekend when resources are sparse. Pretty cool to see everything fall into place.

I heard the City Council ( of New Orleans) is trying to make it illegal to throw the beads from the floats ( Mardi Gras) but instead hand the beads to the public.... a BIG DUH!!! here.. back in the 70's they enforced laws to put up baracades to keep the people at least 8' away from the floats... thus throwing beads is the most efficient manner to get beads to the masses... the baracades kept people from getting mashed up against and under the floats... now they want to have them handed out???? Yup.. were gonna see the riders lean over the sides of the float trying to hand beads to people 8' away... hey, why not just have Nerf Noodles attached to the side of the float and have the beads safely slide down to the people... oh wait, yup a huge crowd of drunks fighting over beads sliding down a Nerf noodle... bet that would work out wonderfully... why not just do away with the beads and make Mardi Gras a "visual" thing... no beads no "dabloonz" no nuttin... you stand there watching colorful floats go by with people sitting on them bored out of their minds and getting drunk... if things keep going like this, Nola is going to loose MILLIONS in tourist funding... Nola is supposed to be known as "The city That Care forgot"... its new slogan will be " The City That Killed Mardi Gras"

the council even got it thru to NOT have 2 or more parades in succession this year... only 1 parade at a time... soooo. if it rains and the parade is cancelled due to weather, it cant be rescheduled... tough cookies for those who paid a small fortune to ride and participate...

who elected these people to make these decisions???? o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

It is colder than a well diggers behind. Sleeting, rain & wintry mix. Today was supposed to be nice, but cold. It is 12 deg below the projected high. We are hovering around freezing now. The low tonight was supposed to be 33. It is already 33, and I don't see it going to 35 much less the low 40's. They goofed up big time.

Anyone watching The Colony? I'm on the 2nd season.

I just let one of my neighbors have it. He just returned from the animal shelter. He brought his three year old cat in and dropped him off there...permanently. Got tired of him spraying all over the house. He never got the thing fixed and everyone told him to. He's too cheap. A few years ago I had to help him pick up his 8-1/2 year old lab out of the house and haul him out to his truck. He was taking him in to get put to sleep. 8-1/2 years old and he lived the majority of his life in a cage. His muscles were not exercised near enough and atrophy set in. Couldn't walk anymore. The poor dog looked horrible. I told him flat out to never get another animal. If you're not going to take the time and expense to have an animal then don't have them. Not that hard.
