I’m still having fun in my kitchen! Back in 2012 I bought a pasta maker. Then I never used it. I read up on making pasta and it seemed complicated an too easy to mess it up. Boy, was I wrong! It was super easy and fun. I made fettuccini. Had some mistakes that I’ll fix next time, but it was so doggone delicious!

its even better when you add spices to the mix... touch of garlic, pepper, a hint of thyme or rosemary, oregano etc...

the wifey has a Kitchen Aide machine and I got her the pasta add on parts for it... seems Im the only one who uses all the ad ons

I’m hand kneading the dough then hand cranking the pasta. See, that way I work off the calories before I consume them. Win-win! I’ll defintitely try adding spices. This is gonna be fun.

I must be getting old because 18 yrs old looks like a baby still to me.

Thank you! Yes, he's still a baby to me too. I got married as a baby at 19, so it's just hard to imagine they are old enough for that. They really aren't; I wasn't either!

My baby turned 18 today.. he’s a good hard working young man. So proud of him. Tomorrow we go tour the college he plans to attend next fall. It’s getting real...

Hands are hurting again. By Tuesday they should be feeling more 'normal'. I'm going to make an appointment with a dermatologist and hope they can help.

A little down today but I will bounce back. One thing I have learned, enjoy each day to its fullest. Take pleasure in the little things and don't sweat the small stuff.

Finally caught our house mouse. Dang thing was poopin' everywhere. Set a trap more than a week ago and the little bugger wanted nothing to do with it. He walks around the kitchen laughing at me. Came out and sat on the sofa the other day...three feet away with a big grin on his face. Got a new trap today. Caught him inside of three hours. Who says there aren't better mouse traps?

I had those most of my life too. And most of them were great mousers. The last one was not. Couldn't care less. Tried to make friends with them.

The old cat here doesn't care too much about catching things. She just looks at them. The wild cat will go crazy trying to catch a mouse, if she ever saw one. She is the best huntress I've had since I was a kid. When I was a kid I had a cat who brought me love tokens. She would bring them to the back door to trade for cat food, or maybe she just loved me. The wild cat wants all the prey she catches for herself. She even catches spiders and eats them. She catches moths or any kind of bug. She has gone after lizards and even a frog once. She is a house cat, and she loves the chance of catching things. Maybe when she is old she won't care anymore. Right now she is worth her weight in gold by being a supreme huntress.
