I've been binge watching The Last Alaskans on the Discovery Go app. It's a very well-done reality show about the last people living in ANWR. There are only 7 cabin permits remaining from the 1980 law that prohibited further human occupation. This show is about some of those remaining people. Wow, what a great show! I have been totally and completely hooked. I often think about having two lives. The second life begins when the first life ends and we get to bring our wisdom from our first life to the second life. What a grand life it would be. And I would spend it living like the Last Alaskans to be sure. One of the people in the show (Bob Harte) lived on his own hunting, fishing, and trapping to survive. He grew on me quickly. A very gentle man but very strong willed at the same time. His health deteriorated and he had to leave his cabin for Fairbanks to live with his daughter. He was down to 125 pounds. Didn't see him for awhile. He came back to the show looking and feeling better. So I thought he'd go back to his cabin in ANWR but I just found out he died from cancer. I'm bummed. :(

These people are amazing and one of the best produced reality shows I have seen. The scenery, the camera work, the music, everything is fantastic. Now they have a new character. A 20 year old kid who is as bright a 20 year old you will ever see. He acts well beyond his years. I believe he has to be the youngest of the Last Alaskans. When he dies, no one will be left in ANWR. There are a few couples they follow as well. The affection they have for one another is as strong as it gets.

Good Morning Army. I might have to get up my nerve to do taxes this weekend. Not looking forward to that ...
Fran, I don't know how much you mixed or what kind of bottle you used, but .. hold the bottle up to a light and if it's clear and consistent then you can vape it. I just suggest four weeks because it takes a while for the tobacco flavors to actually blend. I do hope the husband finds some relief soon.
Bronze, you would either freeze or starve. In either life. Sorry, old friend, but it's true.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

I mixed all in 15ml glass bottles. In a syringe the color is a constant light golden. 11 days steeped right now. I will wait til I try it again and the others but I'm mixing a big bottle of the Oriental Silk today.

That sounds about right, as long as it's not murky or cloudy.
The bigger the bottle, the longer the wait. But you have others to try ...

DH knows what he's talking about. It is a great show. The thing I don't like about reality shows is they can be contrived. This one is not.

I'd have agreed with you at one time but having watched so many of these shows I think I'd have a good shot. The stuff I have learned is immense. You learn what is important to survive up there. Of course staying warm and eating are paramount. Get your moose in the fall and fill in with caribou, bear, fish, and small game. Get a veggie garden. Chop lots of firewood.

Hubs is cancelling chemo session. He has .........
    Bummer!

@Robino1 ,Just saw the chemo nurse today. The 2 chemo drugs are Cisplatin (Platinol) and Gemcitabine (Gemzar).

I'm not familiar at all with those. :(

Robin did you go to dermatologist today?

Yes, prescription for a couple of creams. One had to be ordered so I don't have that one. He said it will help slough off the dead skin. The other has cortisone in it should help with the pain.

Well we are still hanging in here with the monsoon weather. I think I am having a severe case of cabin fever. More rain today. Potential for severe thunderstorms tomorrow. Some rain on Sunday. Monday no rain. Strong thunderstorms Tues and Wed more rain & thunderstorms. The dogs are getting a bit stir crazy from being in the house so much too.
