Good evening everyone!

Fran, I’m glad the second chemo was a little easier. My friend at work is good thru her 3rd round of chemo for her stage 4 ovarian cancer. I’m worried about her this time around. She’s lost so much weight over the years.

Things are good around here. Just busy going from one activity to another and squeezing work in between it all.

I am amazed that you counted them

Someone (ahem...) has far too much time on his hands.

Curiosity got the best of me. :)

Uh huh. My grandma's would have put you to work, young man! "If you have all that time to count buttons..." :)

Evening....... son is coming next week. Guess I knew what day it was this morning but not which week....o_O

Oh no! It's contagious!!! Whatever it was that I lost (and I *still* can't remember what it was) you lost it too!

Today’s challenge! All handmade, no bread machine help. French Baguettes seemed complicated, but it went well. Turned out to be delicious too. More bread in the freezer!

I think what you did with your kids was a labor of love. I know that wasn't an easy job, but a rewarding one in the long run. My daughter also loved Little Women. My son had to watch countless reruns of that movie too. I enjoyed that movie a lot, but the book is 99.9 % always better in my opinion.

LA, I used to take notes by writing very fast. It became a habit, and over the years it was second nature. My hands are not steady, and that also contributed to the poor handwriting. I even took short cuts in the writing, to make it that much quicker. As I've grown a bit older, the handshake has gotten worse. So I decided to go back to the drawing board, and slow down. I am trying to tweak the muscle memory. It has helped. If I am having a bad day though, you can always tell as the writing is much worse. Funny thing is I can take German Chamomile essential oil, and the tremors mostly disappear. If I need to write something important, I will usually take some of that. I was surprised at what a difference it makes. Practice has also made a difference, but I think I'm almost hitting the peak of what I can do there. My mother has really nice handwriting, but she writes extremely slow. My goal is that everyone is able to read my writing without too much of a strain. :)

You are a fascinating and amazing person! How cool that you are practicing cursive again. I agree that it should be taught and penmanship graded. Fine motor skills and it teaches a striving for excellence, IMHO.

I also learned to read and write early. And I read every day to my kids. When they were older, we read through classics a little each night. I'd have to stop and explain a lot, but they loved it. Their favorite was Little Women.

When I homeschooled my oldest two, we had a daily dictation lesson. They were graded on penmanship, punctuation and accuracy of transcribing what was dictated. It was just 2 or 3 sentences. I would read it through once, then one more time. It taught listening comprehension! It was one of their favorite lessons of the day. It might help that we'd have tea and cookies during that lesson. :)

You just blew my mind! I never even thought of that. But it sure does make me go hmmmmmm.

As a recent Big Threadist I didn't know the tradition. I will refrain from further comment, you know fools go where angels fear to tread.

Good morning :)

My daughter is thinking about moving down here. I would love it but she's the type that makes big plans then backs out for whatever reason. I won't get my hopes up just to have them dashed again.

I said that we can talk about it when they are here at the end of the month. She really needs to drive around to see what the areas are like, distance from higher paying employment options and school systems.

I love her dearly and she was such a comfort and a huge help when my s'mom passed. We don't live together well so I told her if this happens, there will be a time limit on how long she stays in our house.

We both know that we will get on each other's nerves if it is too long. ;) No hard feelings over the fact though. We are both realistic in that respect.

Funny how this diagnosis of mine affects each child of mine. My son went in the direction of getting healthier. He eats better, exercises and has lost about 20+ pounds. My daughter wants to be near me, although she always has wanted to but things worked out differently. My son also makes more of an effort to travel to me. Second time in two years. It's hard with young kids. I totally get that.

I think that our kids feel there is always time to do things but when something like this happens, they realize that there might not be that much time.

My son said to me "you are the strongest person I know". I don't feel that, I just know I want to live for many more years and I will fight for each year. I will not go down whimpering "why me?"

There's my pep talk for the day!! :D

That would be nice if she moved near you. But like you suggest, it has to have limits. You can love your kids to pieces when you know the limits.

Happy to say hubs has actually felt good the last 2 days.:banana:

Wonderful News! Chemo hasn't kicked my .... too badly. The hands issue, so far, has been the worst.

Just got a call from the dermatologist. Along with looking at my hands, he removed a wart like thing from my arm. It was/is cancerous. So I go back to have more work done on it. I wonder if that is the reason for the spike in my CEA...

It did go up again but ONLY .6 and that was after the thing was taken off. I bet there is a bit more in that area.

Sheesh, if it ain't one thing, it's another! LOL

Still fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bwahahahaha!
