It is pretty close to impossible for a rock band to hit the scene with two finer opening albums than Queen (titled, Queen and Queen II)...none of which got any airplay on the radio. After that they went over the cliff. No idea what happened to them. Probably the lure of pop, fame, and fortune. I was fortunate to see them in their early days at the old Chicago Stadium before they completely sold their souls. To that point it was the finest concert I had seen.

For Lori (cuz she loves the Who) and KK's dad (cuz he loved Rush)...:)

Summertime Blues was actually written in the 50's by Eddie Cochran. He died at age 20. Many artists covered the song. The Who just popularized it more than any other.

LOL! I wasn’t a fan of Rush at all! Let’s see....

Yes! I did like this lady.

Is your power back now?

It is thankfully! It was out for an hour or two. I was very glad it didn’t happen during the day when it’s hotter. We spent a couple of days here a while back with no AC when the temp was well over 100. I was sitting with ice packs on my head! No idea how the early settlers survived! Or why anyone decided to stay! They were made of heartier stuff.

This band is the last "new" music I enjoyed and actually purchased. Since then, meh.

I like how they bring in elements of soul with rock. And they are British!

The music industry has completely changed. Now you buy single songs and not LPs. You have to have a hit immediately or the record company dumps you. They don't allow anyone to develop. Bunch of one hit wonders.

Bronze you made me laugh about the RUSH music. They were far from my favorite, but I liked a few of their songs. I haven't listened to them since the early 80's. My dad also hated Ted Nugent, and Foghat. I could make a list of groups he didn't like. RUSH was the one he hated the most though. Remember Bloodrock-DOA? I had that album, I think my aunt got it for me. Oh my dad hated that too. I was not even a teenager, not even a real tweener. You have to admit that song was downright creepy. I listened to that, and Jackson 5, plus Elton John during that period. There were many more, but as you can see, my tastes were all over the place.

My brother was into soul music in our teen years. But he did like Journey and Foreigner. My dad could tolerate that a whole lot more. But one group I didn't care for was Uriah Heep, I never could get into that.

Good afternoon, Army!

{{{{{{{Kk!!}}}}}}}. I'm seriously glad you went in!

Daughter and family are still here and I think they are contemplating staying an extra day. The weather on the route looks bad for tomorrow. Not to mention that temps are going to be nice and warm tomorrow if not downright hot. Excellent pool weather tomorrow! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, went to chemo yesterday and did get a modified dose to hopefully minimize the damage on my hands. Some pain today but not as bad. So they checked my CEA.

Even after not getting chemo for 5(!) weeks......

Down by over 6(!!!!!!!) points!!!!

CT scan scheduled for Wednesday.

I'm thrilled! Daughter and oldest Grandaughter went with me yesterday. Made the time go by much faster. Now they see what it's like. They got to meet my oncologist and both liked her. :)

Anyway, that's my update. :D

Good news!

Can't let my favorite go without mention . Tony Iommi in an instrumental , very atypical for Sabbath , steel drums and a wailing Gibson SG .

Vol. 4 was probably my favorite BS record.

I love when we get into these music discussions and everyone shares their faves. :)
I'd share a lot more but I'm afraid it would put many of you to sleep. I love jazz, piano, and new age too and I know I'm in the minority there. :)

I still remember the first time I heard "Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin. It terrified me! The "ah ah ahhhhhh..." vocals made me feel like Death had its claws around my throat. Music that's very minor and frenetic still distresses me. I guess it's supposed to, but I don't enjoy the experience. I also despise rollercoasters though, so there's that.

I never ever listen to Gregorian chants either. Horrifies me!
