Hula dear, they keep talking about stuff in Hawaii but aren't saying which island, and I am confused. Even so the smoke might come your way, if you are close enough. Yes, the media hypes up all this stuff trying to scare us. They want you to believe in climate change more than just about anything. I believe it, but not in the way they do.
Happy Mother's Day to all the women on here, and any dad who might be playing both roles. I am lucky to still have my mother, at my age. My brother came and we had one of the best visits ever. My son is out of state of course, and my daughter had a family emergency to attend to. I was gone for a while, and my dogs had a complete melt down when they heard me coming in the door. Cassie was screaming like a puppy who hadn't had a meal in a week. She jumped all over me, and she never does that. I thought she needed to go to the restroom badly, and she did. But the biggest part of it was that she missed me. She is laying by my feet right now. One eye closed, the other partly open...just in case I try to sneak off. She won't let me out of her sight now. Bella was very happy I took care of their late meal, I think she was afraid I'd forgotten. She always misses me, but thankfully she doesn't jump on me. (she would probably knock me to the floor if she did)
My brother got us a steak dinner, loaded baked potato, rolls, broccoli, and strawberries dipped in chocolate. I was stuffed to say the least. I haven't had a steak dinner in a few years, so it was a missed treat for sure. We had a good time talking about old times. My mom had the best time in a very long time. So the day was really good for my family. I missed seeing my kids, but sometimes life gets in the way. My son did send me a gift this year, and he called me. I will be talking to my daughter after while. She is at the hospital still I'm sure with a family member. I changed clothes, and am in full relax mode now. It is hot like summer almost. Normally I bring my mom fresh flowers, but this year most of those flowers peaked two weeks ago. Normally I at least have roses blooming. The dry wind knocked the blooms off. She did love the gift I gave her, so I'm happy about that. Alright, I'm signing off. Carry on.
