Hula dear, they keep talking about stuff in Hawaii but aren't saying which island, and I am confused. Even so the smoke might come your way, if you are close enough. Yes, the media hypes up all this stuff trying to scare us. They want you to believe in climate change more than just about anything. I believe it, but not in the way they do.

Happy Mother's Day to all the women on here, and any dad who might be playing both roles. I am lucky to still have my mother, at my age. My brother came and we had one of the best visits ever. My son is out of state of course, and my daughter had a family emergency to attend to. I was gone for a while, and my dogs had a complete melt down when they heard me coming in the door. Cassie was screaming like a puppy who hadn't had a meal in a week. She jumped all over me, and she never does that. I thought she needed to go to the restroom badly, and she did. But the biggest part of it was that she missed me. She is laying by my feet right now. One eye closed, the other partly open...just in case I try to sneak off. She won't let me out of her sight now. Bella was very happy I took care of their late meal, I think she was afraid I'd forgotten. She always misses me, but thankfully she doesn't jump on me. (she would probably knock me to the floor if she did)

My brother got us a steak dinner, loaded baked potato, rolls, broccoli, and strawberries dipped in chocolate. I was stuffed to say the least. I haven't had a steak dinner in a few years, so it was a missed treat for sure. We had a good time talking about old times. My mom had the best time in a very long time. So the day was really good for my family. I missed seeing my kids, but sometimes life gets in the way. My son did send me a gift this year, and he called me. I will be talking to my daughter after while. She is at the hospital still I'm sure with a family member. I changed clothes, and am in full relax mode now. It is hot like summer almost. Normally I bring my mom fresh flowers, but this year most of those flowers peaked two weeks ago. Normally I at least have roses blooming. The dry wind knocked the blooms off. She did love the gift I gave her, so I'm happy about that. Alright, I'm signing off. Carry on.

the run from hell.... fubarsnafu complete..
a simple 4 hour turn around turned into 7.5 hrs...
about midway into the run on hwy 90 the police were diverting traffic off the highway due to some LPG gas line being ruptured ( was actually pretty seeing all that "fog/steam" venting 100 feet into the air) Hwy 90 is a major thruway down here and all the traffic was sent thru a town called Centerville... a 1 lane road with lots of stop signs and red lites...

yudthink ( yup its a real word down here) they would put police at these points to over ride the lites to keep traffic moving..butttt Noooooo... took better than an hour to traverse 4 miles thru the town... and I had to do it again on the way back... the alternate route thru Baton Rouge was just as SNAFUed and WAZE was showing even longer delays...
cost me 55$ in gas ( had to use my van) and was told it paid 135$ ( actually it payed 82$) the manager is a slick one and lies about the payscale... he gave me the Gross price, not my net price... and I asked precisely what is my pay...
so... I ended up "making" 30$ for 7 hrs of my time.... next time he can find someone else or loose the run....

wonders if Krakatoa Part II is ready to go... ;)

and after all this ash and Sulphur and CO2 gets dumped into the air, I wonder if the Global Warming group is still gonna blame humans for it...

lol... the senerio... ohohoh, since the glaciers are melting, they no longer are applying enuf weight on the crust so now all the magma is able to float upwards and break thru...

If it wasn't for fracking the volcano would never have erupted.

Good evening Army. Settled in at Austinville, VA. These onboard computer deal are becoming more confusing to the Office than the drivers.
With paper logs, Parkersburg/ Vienna/ or Marietta and then back was a one day deal. Not anymore. After my 10 hours of mandatory nothing, I can head on back.

I’m glad to know you’re okay! The info I’ve seen that’s concerning is the frequency, depth and magnitude of the earthquakes happening along with the lava situation. Also if Mauna Loa gets involved then the tectonic effects will be more severe. Apparently the Hawaii volcanoes’ activities were a precursor in the quake that hit Japan and led to the Fukushima disaster.

The position of things this time points to the possibility of a massive quake here on the West Coast.

The Pacific Ring Of Fire has been insanely active recently. Yellowstone has also been going more crazy than usual. We’re not seeing a lot about that other than the usual pooh-poohing that it’s anything to worry about. Who knows? We can do our best to be prepared. But the constant sensationalizing by the media doesn’t help anyone except their advertisers and their bottom line. I’m so sick of fear porn!
Oh my goodness! I hope Mauna Loa doesn't get involved, that's where one of the world's foremost astronomy laboratories is located, right up there on top.

The only "active" volcano in Hawaii is the Kilauea one in Puna. I'm on "Oahu", home of Honolulu and Waikiki.

Kilauea volcano and the Puna district where it's all happening is on the "big island" of "Hawaii", and then of course there are other smaller islands, "Kaua'i", "Maui", "Molokai", "Lana'i", "Ni'ihau" and "Kahoolawe". Those 8 represent the 8 lines of red, white and blue on the State flag, and !OF COURSE!......

........The Union Jack. Heheheheh. Why? Because the 2 monarchies got on with each other. :D

Yep that big ol' sod keeps growing in height every year. The second? big one around 416-500 AD wiped out the Byzantine, European and probably the Mayan populations - along with many others no doubt - with it's sun blocking and subsequent starvation/acid water. The Big One to worry about I would think would be Yellowstone, though they do say all the VIPs are spending out money on fancy hideouts for themselves as the magnetic poles are going to shift in a few decades. And yes, This is what magnetic poles do. I don't think cow farts were responsible for the last time round either.

the interesting thing about the Islands.... only one island can be "volcanocally" ( a new word) active since the magma bubble stays in one place as the plates move by popping thru creating new islands... eventually there could be a dozen islands in about another million yrs... and in couple of hundred million yrs, Hawaii will be sitting in San Fransico bay :)
