Speaking of snowflakes....

Some fifth graders decided homework was “too stressful” and started a petition. The school district is considering it. The kids are being praised for taking on the problem and getting their concerns heard.

The article mentions that getting rid of homework would help out the poor kids whose parents work at night and aren’t their to help them with homework.

My parents NEVER helped me with homework. Yet, somehow I was a happy straight A student.

Fifth-graders start petition to end homework; now their school district is reviewing its policies

you have got to be kidding us....
when I was in 5th grade it was DO your homework or fail.... ( or summer school) do they still do summer school??? or is that too stressful on the kids??? I had to do summer school for math ( 6th grade algebra) and the teacher kept the room at 58 degrees ( thermostat all the way down) froze my buttoff.... lol... I still get chills when I think about algebra :)

Classwife, I think Arby's used A-1 in some type of burger previously. (they still may) I didn't try one, because I never was a fan of it. I might like it now though, as sometimes your taste changes over time. I loved Worcestershire from Lea & Perrins. I guess that is because my mother used it in a few things, and I acquired a taste for it. My dad used A-1 on his steak for a long time. I tried it on my steak when I was a kid, but never liked it.

Only in America! SMH!

Was watching a cooking show the other day and there was a restaurant that had hamburger scented candles.

I’m just glad there are no hamburger flavored vapes. (That I know of. Or have ever tried.)

Yep. Things got real fancy around the dinner table growing up when the burger patties had Lea & Perrins mixed into them! I lost my taste for it a long time ago. Never liked A-1 much.

Arby’s ad campaign a while back cracked me up. “I’m so hungry I could eat Arby’s” - or something like that. It always made me think that Arby’s food is so bad you’d only eat it if you were starving. But I overthink a lot. :)

I loved Arby’s roast beef. Just the plain old original.

Saturday Night has become "eat out at home" night. Meaning, I go get it and bring it home.
Last week Mamaw couldn't make up her mind, so I said "How about so roast beef sandwiches ?" and to Arby's I went. This week coupons for Arby's came in the mail, so it looks like French Dip and Swiss Roast Beef sandwiches with a side of mozzarella sticks for supper this evening. Whenever she decides she is hungry.
And their new ad campaign is a baritone announcer "WE have The MEATS !"

LA, I like to mix Worcestershire on hamburgers if they are cooked inside the house. I love it, and would put in on pretty heavy. Even better is to use it with onion and make a hamburger steak out of it, with the sauce of course. Did you know there is an American version of it, and a British version? The British version sounds healthier. I wish I could try that. It has malt vinegar, and I LOVE that. Nothing better on fish 'n chips to me. I coat it on there, just the malt vinegar alone. (nothing else)

Dang, I'm glad I just got through eating before I saw all this latest stuff. Papaw I like the Swiss Roast Beef 'n French Dip too, or whatever they call that. I also like the Reuben, and the one with bell peppers and meat. I can't remember the name of that one. The last one is my favorite, you think I'd remember. I don't like the plain roast beef sandwich they have, even dressed up with sauces.

Oh yeah! I love vinegar of all kinds. If I could live on garlic, Parmesan, capers and vinegar I would. Years ago I used to put plain white vinegar and salt on French fries. I watched some videos on how vinegar has a “mother” and people make their own vinegar. Fascinating!

I have some Chinese black vinegar right now that’s incredible. It’s malt based vinegar and is aged. Delicious with soy sauce, sriracha and a tiny bit of sesame oil. Makes a great dipping sauce for the scallion pancakes I made today.

I used to know there was a British version but I forgot that till you mentioned it. Now I have to go learn what the difference is.

Heinz malt vinegar, my lady! It's a crime in UK not to have it on the table for fish n chips and salads! (well....not really, though you may find people distance themselves from you, talk in low whispers to each other when you pass them on the street, and so on:lol:) There's also London Pub, Cross and Blackwell, all of which I've seen in US grocery stores, but not my personal favourite, Sarson's.
