I've been busy with my flowers again. Mostly I was repotting cactus plants today. I also potted up some cuttings from a plant my daughter gave me last year. They have roots, and I am thrilled. I wasn't sure how they would do with this heat. Only one of the cuttings didn't root, and I just cut the end off of it, and stuck it back in the soil. I have untold numbers of that same plant that I'm rooting with just the leaves. Almost all of them have roots too. So I shouldn't have to worry about losing that plant anytime in the future. I am not even sure what the name of it is, but I think it is an Echeveria. I will have quite a few pups off of the leaves soon. I don't know where I'm going to put them all. I plan to give 3-4 of them away. I may sell the rest this fall, who knows. That is after I keep probably 3 for myself. :)

several days ago ( yall might remember) I had some mead... and I turned down a run at 3 am sunday...
needless to say the other 2 guys didnt answer their phones so the "phone girl" had to do the run and basically threw me under the bus by Emailing the manager and corporate dispatch that I was too drunk to do it... so... the manager decided to "punish" me by cutting my percentage to 60% instead of my normal 75%. Since Im an Independent Contract driver I have the option to accept or refuse any run offered to me. Since he "punished" me, I told him I am now going to work from 10pm to 6am ( 8 hrs) instead of 3pm to 9am (18 hrs)... he didnt like that... anywho.... the other 2 drivers now have to do a whole lot more work than before and they are about toasted... I got a call from the manager at 3pm today asking me to take a couple of runs... I agreed.. got to the warehouse and told the manager that I have 3 questions for him to answer before I make the run...
Q1.. as an independent contract driver do I have the option to accept or refuse jobs? he answered yes
Q2... When does the pay period end? Saturday at midnite or Sunday at midnite... he answered sat at midnite
Q3..... what day was it when I turned down the run "cuz I was too drunk"? he answered Saturday and the "phone girl" chimed in very quickly yup it was Saturday... I looked at her and told her to be careful as to what you are saying and think and remember when it was... then she said Saturday nite and stammered nooo umm it was Sunday morning about 4am.. ( now mind you, she was going to try to throw me under the bus again) since the time was now verified, I looked at the manager and asked him why did he chop my percentage for the previous week when it had no errors or missed runs???
he offered to reset my check o_O and I ended up with 2 premium runs tonite :)

If I could read, I might have been a halfway decent lawyer... :)

good morning army :)

The HHV Army *never* forgets one of our own. :)

It’s wonderful to hear your update! I’m glad things are progressing along for you and your wife. Makes me laugh... “Sure. I’ll just hop on over from Germany and dog sit for ya. Why not?”

I can barely drag myself out to the market every week.

I can relate, errands seem harder to do than hopping on a plane going to my beloved Cincy :)
But I have to admit, two months ago it was a fun idea, now that it inches closer it seems just a wee-bit crazy. But then again, I like it that way :) And I get to see my friends and the (losing) reds :D

Btw - needless to say: Since I have a house and will ensure the fridge holds some brews at any given time...if anyone (DavidOH, CmdKy, ...) is in or around Cincy in July, come on over.
Dog is old and blind, so don't be afraid :)

Bravo!!! Yes, this post had me cheering. You would have been an outstanding lawyer. But I’m glad you didn’t choose that path. You are too good for that profession. :)

It’s too often a soul-eating pursuit.

My Vonage modem went kaput. Called Vonage and they sent me one for free (paid $10 shipping). Said the modem is valued at $79.99 so thought it would come with routing n wifi capability (not that I would ever use it). Shows up and it's the exact same cheapass box I can buy at Amazon for $7.99 (no shipping cost). How insulting.

Why do cats think every surface is available for them to walk on?

Because when the good Lord was telling Adam that he was to have dominion over all the Earth and all its creatures... the cat wasn’t really listening. They never do. The cat heard it that he was in charge. And they’ve believed that ever since. :)

Search the shipping box! There’s a bottle of cure-all tincture and a coupon for half off a bridge in Brooklyn.

Um, because they are! :D

I was really hoping this was a Photoshop hoax. But no. It’s real.

The pic below isn’t the video, just a screenshot. Here’s the article, if you’re interested.

I'm convinced cats like to hear women yell . Cat walks on shelf starts knocking things off and the wife yells at it , cat looks at her likes she's stupid and continues to knock stuff off . Wife yells at me to do something . I raise my voice and cat disappears because it knows it's about to get sent to flight school . Wife doesn't get why cat defies her .
