Pappy, you were lucky. When those here did get rain, often high winds & downed trees came with it. (plus some hail) Now today I think it is more rain then anything. I still haven't gotten any rain yet. It is dry as a bone here, and the leaves are falling out of the trees everywhere.

LA, no way I would want to move to a desert terrain. It is more than hot enough for me right now. I guess it is a dramatic change in weather for you, since you came from the NE. Cold to hot. We have cold and hot with humidity. A dry cold is much better as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't want to live in Alaska though. That is way too cold for me. Our winters are mostly very tolerable. But when we get a bad norther blow in, at times it is bone chilling. I am very thankful to have air conditioning. I would probably croak without it.

In other news my house got hooked into the new gas line today and they put a new meter on the house... And my gas is off.. I was told by the contractor I didn't need to be home because my furnace and hot water heater don't have pilot lights. They are electronic. Well that was wrong. The gas company still needs to check for leaks. On the bright side I had enough hot water for a shower and because of all the gas work going on they are working late in the area. (till 12:00) So I'm waiting for them to show up and turn the gas on and check for leaks.....:?:

Guess I should be happy my house hasn't exploded.:D

My pizza’s about to go in the oven! Guess it’s getting on time to crack open a beer.

@kkay59 - Agreed! Dry cold or dry heat is better to endure. Not great on skin and my lips get dry a lot. But I’ve adapted. Big, big change in weather from the NE for sure. But I do not miss NE weather at all. I don’t miss mowing grass, pulling weeds or shoveling snow. :)

Hey all,
Hangin at “my” (current) neighborhood bar, beer‘n‘bourbon.

@DavidOH, iirc you’re not far from cincy. I’m certainly glad that humid heat is gone for now, it’s a nice night out today.
Going on a boat cruise on the ohio river on a friend’s boat tomorrow - gotta donit as long as the weather is so pleasant. Still lots of firecracking business going on in the area, dog still scared at night.

Worked for 10hrs today after i couldn’t get anything done yesterday. Guess i sat out in the heat for too long on wednesday, felt woozy all day yesterday and i’m pretty sure it wasn’t your average hangover. Didn’t drink too much (iirc )

Hope your dog woes will subside soon @kkay59 , maybe he’s just confused from all that fireworks.

Good luck @LAwaters, it is supposed to get hot in vegas from what i’ve heard. ‘T is the season after all. At least you don’t get hi humidity, or do you?

Have a great weekend, y’all

Boat cruises on the water! Now there’s something I miss. We do have Lake Mead nearby. But it’s too dang hot to go out there now.

We have extremely low humidity even in winter. Took some getting used to. My hair (which is now down to my shoulders so @Bronze and @PapawBrett would no longer look askance at me! Ahem.) lost a lot of curl. My breathing is good again. But while the Army gets fussy in humidity, I’m running my humidifier. :D

Well, you sure know how to clear a room! It’s a gift. Wear it with your head held high. ;)

Meanwhile someone pulled a gun tonight during an altercation by my favorite local brewery and pub. Glad I made my pizza at home. Sigh. Details are sketchy but seems no one was hurt. Police shut down the entire outdoor mall area. On a Friday night. Crazy world.

same ole Nola weather here... humid, hot, and you can set your watch to the afternoon rain storms.

looks like Im back to the busy work... did a 19 hr day and 650 miles... good way to finish off the week :)

gonna start on pulling motor carriages from the 2 smart cars in the "morning" if it doesnt rain all day ( expecting 70% all day) I dont like working in the rain...

lol.. reminds me of a time when I was teaching scuba diving. We went in and stayed under for about 45 minutes, when we came up it was raining fairly well... my first thought was "dammm Im gonna get all wet".... o_O
