I got my HHV order in today. :)
That was the good news.

The bad news is the old dog's time was up after all. I knew something wasn't right. This morning I knew I couldn't let it go on any longer. He was in pain. I think he was 15, and he was born in July. So he might've been 16. I can't remember the day for sure.

Oh no! I’m so sorry for your loss. Sad and painful, but when it reaches that point you just don’t want them to suffer anymore.

I'm so sorry! That is one of the toughest things to do. :(

Last act of love we can give our pets.

It has been a while since you put the ceramic pads on the truck. How do you like them?
No problemo so far CMD. Seem to work perfectly fine.

He was my son's dog, but I took over his care after my son joined the military. I think the dog would've been 16 this month, now that I think about it. It has been strange not having him here already. The other two dogs just don't know what to think. I did call my son and talk to him about it. I think he already said his goodbye to him the last time he came home. It is a very hard thing to do regardless. I hope the two dogs I have will live as long as my son's dog did, and be happy and healthy. My daughter's dog lived to be in his early 20's. He was a rescue, so I don't know his exact age. He was a small dog though, and often they live longer.

Well, we got a good rain yesterday again, and we needed it. We have a good chance of rain again today. I do need to work on Cassie's hair again, but the humidity out there is rough. It is so humid it is hard to breathe. The sun is out, and the real feel is way above the actual temperature. I do need to go get to the store. Hopefully I will get that done before the next rain pops in out of nowhere again.

Good luck on your chemo today, Ms. Robin. Hope your blood is good enough to get the treatment. I'm sure you want to get it done too.

Good morning, Army! :)

Yep, got it done. Test results on the kidneys came back and they are good. It was just a UTI and I've been taking a med for it and is just about gone.

In a couple of days I'll be able to see what my CEA is.

Funny how before this cancer, most of us had never heard of CEA tests.

Stuff you never wanted to know...

Good! Glad everything was green lighted today. Didn't know your kidneys were being tested or for what.

No, I didn't know what a CEA test was before. I have a good idea as to what it is but don't know how the number is determined.

How is that port of yours holding out? Do those things wear out like our kayfun o-rings?

Ports don't wear out. I believe they are titanium. The don't set off the airport scanners.

Some people have their port for 6+ years. They do need flushing ever 4-6 months when not being used. Rule of thumb is to keep the port until you have been 3-5 years out from being cancer free. No sense in removing if there is a possibility of needing it in a few years.

There was protein in my urine sample so to be safe, they did a 24 hour urine catch and tested to make sure there was no failure.

This explains CEA a bit: Definition of Tumor marker, CEA
