Awwww {{{{{{BK}}}}}}}

It is absolutely ridiculous how much they want to control our lives. There's a lady on a local website that wants rules for every little thing. She complains about every little thing. Snakes, fireworks etc...

There was one, only one, shooting in a housing complex and she went on a tear about bad the complex was (lower income) and is the city going to allow people to cause crime in there. She is just freakin' nuts.

I try to counteract with common sense. Pointing out that we already have way too much regulation and we really don't not need more. We in fact need less. People are being programmed to not have to think for themselves.

Ugh!

Good morning?

Morning friends!

Oh, don’t get me started on regulations. I’m (still) working on FDA compliance stuff for HHV. It makes me want to throttle people whose nightmares turned into laws. As usual, only the lawyers make money helping honest small business owners meet the demands of the laws. Grrrrrrrr.

@Bronze had me in stitches over the tussle with the cat. You love that cat and he knows it. It’s all a game to them. Drives us nuts but what can we do? Song actually hangs back and times it so that she can dart across my feet. My left foot has the scar to prove how much “fun” we’ve had at this game. So funny not funny! :D

Made my trip to the store. It is really hat and muggy outside. And because of the heat this week the grass didn't grow much so I the I'll skip mowing this week...

anywayyyy.. got the motors switched in the cars.... and....... I connected everything up expecting some major snafus... it started right up, no engine failure lights etc. only issue was that it said that the brakes had low fluid ( well that was to be expected since I didnt refill the brake fluid tank at that point) needed to get some radiator fluid at NAPA and I got hit with sticker shock... 60$ a gallon... UMMM whaaaaaaat!!!! come on! anyway, thats another trip to Napa main branch... no one else carries the stuff... anywhooo... I iz tired... well worn and really feeling old, between the heat and crawling around on my broken ole knees, I did manage to save nearly 5000$ ( yup 5 thousand dollars) doing it myself... yup I did call MB ( Mercedes Benz) and asked what it would cost to do an engine swap, and that price was just for labor.... I really should have followed my initial plans from my 20's and went with being a mechanic for exotic imports... but life got in the way... and I did a multitude of other things instead.. :)

treated myself to a bottle of Chambord... its awesome on ice. :)

did you know that black current is banned from being grown in the USA?? the reason is that it harbors a fungus that doesnt affect the black current plant but does really nasty things to the "native" tree population in the US. Seems that the European trees are resistant to the fungus... isnt evolution kewl??? ;) This is the reason why you dont see Black Currant products produced in the US.... Russia has a Black Currant tea that is wonderful ( but it acts as a diuretic) ... makes you pee even more than Lasix ....

Never knew that! My grandmother had a tiny pocket garden but she had so much stuff in it. Black currant. white currant, red currant, gooseberry bushes, holly tree, honeysuckle, sweet peas, English peonies, white roses round the front door, regular tea roses, traditional wild rose, rhubarb, strawberries, potatoes, pear tree, apple tree, pansies, snowdrops and a ton of other stuff. The magic thing is it all looked after itself pretty much. The person who purchased the property dug ALL of it up, except the door roses. If I ever save enough money, I want to buy it back for our family and restore the garden to what it used to be.

SO
Good Morning Army. Nothing on the agenda, but Mamaw is up so it will change ...

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)
So what was on the bbq today then? What a great invention that is. The women can stay cool and the men can cook in triple digit temperatures. Wonderful!

Wow! We had a crazy, fierce thunderstorm here tonight. It went on for nearly an hour. That’s a first since I’ve been here. I heard lots of sirens. Don’t know what that was about. We needed the rain - as always - but it floods badly around here.

We are in monsoon season. Every year they have to go into the tunnels to try to get the homeless people out before these rains hit. It’s heartbreaking. Right under the Strip and all that opulence, people live in the tunnels. :(

I am well and truly impressed! I applaud you, @Bronze and @CMD-Ky and anyone here working on their own cars and appliances. It’s a dying art. :)

Nice work, BK!

I call them a lot worse than that, but not on any websites.:D I might disappear into one of those "secret locations" and never be heard from again.
One day one of the Mother Hens got on her high horse and told everyone in the neighborhood that we all need to cut back on our lawn watering because of the drought. My always-docile neighbor couldn't take it anymore and went off on her ending his retaliatory reply with, "May your day be as perfect as you are". I've used that phrase ever since. :)

When I was young I didn't mind working on my stuff. Now I detest it. I do it for one reason and one reason only (OK, maybe two). $$. Also, I really don't trust the "professionals". Most are trustworthy but there are still many who are not. And when I do hire a pro for something I cannot do (because I don't have the specialty tools or equipment) I am always amazed at how much BS these people dish out. They think they are talking to idiots. I suppose most people are idiots and that's why they hire the pros. But they have to know at some point they will run into someone who actually knows their stuff and will call them out on their BS. My favorite one was my truck. Brought it in to the Quick Lube joint for an oil change (didn't have time in those days). This was when my truck was 10 years old. He's down there running his mouth and tells me my exhaust was about to go. I'm like, "yeah, yeah, yeah". Now my truck is 25 years old and has the same exhaust system.
