It was 106 when I got home a little while ago. Now it's 104 with a heat index of 110.

I've got outside work that has to be done this weekend. I'm gonna get up and start by 6:00am and try to be done for the day by 2:00pm.
Good idea Pappy. I used to hoe red beet seedlings on a farm during the school holidays, and in the fens, (think very flat land, no trees, middle of nowhere) it could get brutal. Used to get up and down those rows as quickly as possible, because that's where the water bottles were:) And we all used to get up at 4 am to start the day and avoid the worst of the heat.

Try wondering about the phenomenon practicing alcoholic experience called "blackouts".
Walking, talking, even driving or working....
But not fully conscious. No memory recall. Appearing to be normal, but completely out of it.

Chew on that ....

Good Morning Army.
Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

National Weather Service gives us a prediction of 105 today. 107 Saturday, and Sunday 104. Heat index 110 and possibly higher. It is 79 degrees inside here right now.The little ac unit froze up some I think. I had to turn it off, wait a few minutes and then turn it back on. A local station says watch out for wildlife coming up, seeking refuge from the extreme heat. That also means spiders and snakes I am sure. Normally at a time such as this, the coyotes come in. I am dreading that. They can and will kill your dog. Bella might make them think twice. If I just have Cassie out on a restroom break, it would not be good. I think I will toy with the idea of bringing a machete out there this evening.

Oh they upped tomorrows high to 108. I might need to go get another fan this evening.

You are close to us then in heat. It was 103 with a heat index of 111 a few minutes ago. A while ago we had UV levels topped out at 11. I thought 10 was the highest, until this year. I see it can go to 11.

Pappy is looking at 107 deg, don't know the heat index there.

Id be intetested in your brand of pizza. Anything special?

I eat a number of different brands. From store brand to name brand. I've tried most of them. What I've found is to let the pizza thaw for a bit before putting it in the toaster oven. And I buy pepperoni to add to them. They all get cooked at 375 degrees'. Cook time is 20 minutes give or take. I go by how it looks to tell when it's done to my liking.:)

It's amazing how well those thermostats work.

Bronze my window unit is set on 60. That is as low as it will go. The temperature inside in my small living room is in the low 80's. So I went to the store this evening, and got another fan for the living room to move more air. I have one near the a/c unit to push air further from it. Then I have another one now to oscillate, and move air in the room. Now it is just tolerable for me. The kitchen and dining room are of course hotter than the living room. There is only one window in this part of the house, and it is in the living room.

The NWS says it will be a high of 108 tomorrow. Who knows what the heat index will be. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow and all the fans were sold out!

never did understand the reasons behind fans... yup, they move air around and create a bit of comfort but they also are heaters too... that little motor can get up to 120 F adding heat to an already warm room.... take a look at the info plate on the fan/motor, it will tell you how many volts/amps or watts it uses... and since most of know Ohms law ... one can figure out the heat supplied by the motor ;)
