Yes, I survived. I worked from 6am to 2pm yesterday and 7am to 1pm today working in the pasture.

I would have gone longer today but I got into a patch of poison ivy down in the lower pasture today and didn't realize it at first. So I had to quit and come back up to the house and take a cold shower with Dawn dishwashing liquid. That stuff cuts the oil from the poison ivy. I've had good luck with that in the past.

It's 106 here now. I wish this was September 22nd instead of July 22nd.

My favorite time of the year is that first morning (usually in late September) when I walk outside and there's a little chill in the air. It tells me that summer is over and cool weather and football are ahead.

Pappy! So you made it okay. I was worried. I am getting various reports. The Weather Channel says it is 106 here. The NWS says it is 104. We have 114 heat index, but it did get up to 116. Two little Carolina Wrens looked very bad outside. They wanted to get water from my window unit that was dripping water. They looked so bad that I went and put water in two different containers. I'm hoping birds will find them, and get a drink or a quick bath to cool down. The wind is about 9mph gusting to 18mph a few minutes ago. It feels like a furnace. I would imagine a lot of wildlife will not make it through this awful heat wave.

Bronze, my state has been breaking record heat. Some of those records are 80 years old, or in that range or more. Where I live we are very close to the record right now. The wind died down, and some clouds moved in. That cut the temperature a little. I measured 106 on my gauge outside on the porch, and it wasn't out in the sun. I am thankful the wind down died though, because it wasn't helping it was just making it worse. The Weather Channel says we were at 107 with a heat index of 115. Now since the clouds moved in, the temp started dropping a couple of degrees.

Robin, do you have a session tomorrow or is this your off week?

No chemo last week. This week is chemo week.

We were scheduled to go to Key West on Thursday to meet up with my son and his wife. They celebrated their 10th anniversary. Daughter and significant other drove down and we were supposed to follow later after Rick got off of work. I woke up that morning at 6am with cramping. It got progressively worse and after 3 hours, off to the ER.

Partial bowel blockage so morphine for the pain (worse pain I have ever experienced) and IV liquids all day and night. After puking my guts out, right after getting to my room, the pain was gone. They still kept me overnight and wanted to keep me another night.

If I hadn't had cancer, I would not have been kept at all. I argued with all the doctors that I was not going to spend another night and the oncologist doc made a deal with me. If I ate and it went well, I could be released.

I was fine so released Friday and we got on the road after a shower and packing of the suitcase.

Sheesh. I saw more docs than ever during a hospital stay. I'm fine but am going to be very vigilant in keeping things moving smoothly.

We are back now. Sorry I didn't check in sooner. :(

Thursday I was out of it all day. So much so that I sent Rick home since I was just dozing off and on. Then Friday I was off and onto the adventure.

I figure I was in good hands with my daughter in law since she is a nurse practitioner in a GI docs office and my son is a nurse.

One more thing to work around.

Hey DD , checked out Solus amd MX Linux in Virtualbox . Solus didn't play well in VB , couldn't get past 800x600 resolution on it , some screens are chopped off . Solus is fairly new so they might not have gotten around to addressing that yet . On the other hand no problems with MX Linux at all , It's very fast , even with half my PC's resources . Manjaro's devs have had good things to say about MX and I agree with'm . Tried anything new lately ?

You worked around it with beauty and grace! Glad you got to Key West eventually, I’m sure it was a wonderful visit.

You are one wonderfully tough cookie! I mean that as a high compliment.

I’m glad it wasn’t more serious! I hope your trip went well. Phew! One doggone thing after another, eh? :)

They use blue Dawn to wash ocean birds hurt by oil slicks, because it gets all the oil off, but doesn't damage the natural oils that keep their temperature stabilized. It's very very good stuff.

Good Morning Army. Monday has arrived. Finally got some rain last night.
Saw this in another part if the ECF, and thought of Chak. We used to send him stuff, but now that would be highly illegal in Thailand. Like 10 years illegal ...
