I remember when Camille ravaged the mississippi gulf coast... a couple of days later dad wanted to see the damage ( since he was in the insurance business)... we took a ride and what amazed me was that the homes ( some over 100 yrs old) were either undamaged ( well they did have some broken windows and roof tiles missing) but the home next door ( a mere 200') were wiped clean down the the slab, but yet the 3rd house down was left unscathed also... never did figure out how some houses were spared damaged but yet the home next to it was just totally gone....

and as far as hurricane shutters go... I had a picture of a home that had them... kinda ironic tho... the shutters were intact and the rest of the house was destroyed... well at least they didnt have to replace the windows :)

Evening army!

Robin, just caught up.. I have no words. Just sending all my love and gentle hugs. And fingers crossed this surgery will offer you some relief and hopefully get rid of the cancer as well.

Bronze and papaw... be careful. Seriously. I hope y’all are able to stay safe, and if they tell ya to get out please listen. They’re comparing this to Katrina and Harvey rolled into one. Just be safe..

Sending love and smooches to the army [emoji173]️

Things have been interesting for sure around here lol. But we are hanging in there. It’s been raining for about a month straight, I feel like we got cheated out of the already short summer here..

Yep, that'll power a lot of crap. Hope you can get a tanker lined up to feed it fuel.

really... I stock pile about 40 gallons of fuel when I KNOW one is headed my way.... with conservative usage and timing, 40 gals can last several days easily.... the idea is to use most of the energy at nite to cool the house to almost too cold, then shut it down about 5 am.... house stays cool to about 4 pm then it starts getting nasty. fire the generator back up at 5-6ish cook food ( enuf to last 24 hrs) check the news/weather reports and recool the house.... so basically you use the generator only 12 hrs a day instead of 24 hrs....

Tentatively scheduled for October 1st unless they can move it up. Will know more tomorrow.

There is a chance they won't be able to do the HIPEC. He won't know until they actually go in to see exactly where some of the cancer is. If there is any on my intestines, they will just close me up. If it is elsewhere, he can do it. Even if the seeding is on my abdominal wall, they can scrape it, he can remove the omentum if necessary. If there are spots on my liver he can get that too.

It will be scheduled as a full HIPEC but he will start by doing a smaller incision and make the determination before cutting me wide open.

I am hopeful. He has given me hope.

I have all the prep stuff and instructions. It's going to happen!!!!!

I really like this doctor. He spent an hour going over things and answering all our questions. My son and daughter in law went with us so they had questions also.

He said he will do everything he can for me.

I'm thrilled. :D
