Always, good to see you girl. I'm glad you stopped in! Katrina and Harvey rolled into one? That is a scary thought alright. I hope they are wrong about that.

Robin, that sounds good. If you are happy, than I am happy. I will be more happy when I know he did the procedure you want to try. I want you to have the percentages going on in your favor!

This was posted on Twitter. Seems like some helpful info here for everyone to know in emergencies, but especially hurricanes.

My girlfriends are all going to Charleston SC Wed... it certainly should be an exciting trip!

No they're not. I-26 East is closed at Columbia. Coast is evacuating. People are leaving, not going in ...

NVM, just caught up ...

Not looking good at this point for evading that cane here in Wake Forest. 90% of the models are showing a direct hit on the outer banks and headed up I-40 straight for here. The vast majority of times we just get lots of rain and some 50 mph winds this far inland while anything to the immediate south and east of here gets the brunt of it. But every once in awhile we will get slammed as if we were right on the coast. 1954 Hazel. 1989 Hugo. 1996 Fran. Sustained hurricane winds and monsoon rains. Large wind damage to trees and homes, power outages for a month, mass flooding. Still time for the thing to go somewhere else but it's not good when you have 20 models very tight with one another and pointing right at the outer banks.

My favorite hurricane story: A guy who worked for me (Gary) and his family...Hurricane Fran 1996. Winds are 80mph sustained and 100mph gusts. Middle of the night. Trees snapping all over the place. Crap flying everywhere slamming into the house. Pounding rain. They forgot to bring in the dog. Poor Gary. When his wife remembered the dog was still outside she went into full panic mode. And knowing the wife, kids, and family pet outrank husbands, she made him go outside to find the dog. He dressed in heavy coats, put on his motorcycle helmet and goggles and started out the back door. He began to make his way through the maze of fallen trees and limbs getting smacked with flying debris from every angle. Falling over time and again...getting up determined to find the dog so his wife will let him back in the house. He finally got to the back of his property where the dog house was. He hangs on, looks inside and the dog was sound asleep.

Bronze Be hoping it goes away from you. Stay safe.

Tentatively scheduled for October 1st unless they can move it up. Will know more tomorrow.

There is a chance they won't be able to do the HIPEC. He won't know until they actually go in to see exactly where some of the cancer is. If there is any on my intestines, they will just close me up. If it is elsewhere, he can do it. Even if the seeding is on my abdominal wall, they can scrape it, he can remove the omentum if necessary. If there are spots on my liver he can get that too.

It will be scheduled as a full HIPEC but he will start by doing a smaller incision and make the determination before cutting me wide open.

I am hopeful. He has given me hope.

I have all the prep stuff and instructions. It's going to happen!!!!!

I really like this doctor. He spent an hour going over things and answering all our questions. My son and daughter in law went with us so they had questions also.

He said he will do everything he can for me.

I'm thrilled. :D
Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well. We are all rooting for you sweetie. ((((Hugs)))))

I did see 6 electrical trucks heading east today. I imagine they were heading to a staging place to be ready to start restoring power.

Several companies have crews and equipment ready to move from Central Kentucky. There is one just up the road about 15 miles that has what looks like an Armada of cranes, lift buckets and stuff I don't what they are - but they are big. With any luck, they won't be needed.

Hey Arm!

Current path shows a jog south. That would help us here if that were the case. But no one knows what that thing will do. The path can change 100 more times. Meanwhile, I forgot to pick up some bar oil yesterday so I have to run out and get some before that gets picked clean too. Got to have bar oil for the chainsaw and I suspect I will need my chainsaw.

General, I'm sure you know this but any gear oil or thick motor oil will do in a pinch. Just in case the shelves have already been picked to the bone.
Thanks Pap. Yes, I was aware of the gear oil. I happen to have some too. About 40 oz of used gear oil but probably good enuf for a chainsaw. Gear oil is pretty heavy stuff like bar oil. Fortunately Lowes had some bar oil. Two cans left (gal. size) so I snagged one of them. I also grabbed some sand bags for cheap. I just scraped up all that sand in the backyard play area so I have a big ole pile of sand. I put a few inches of topsoil over the play area that I was going to seed in a couple weeks. That will definitely get washed away if we get the rain they're talking about. So I need to put some sand bags at the top side of that area. I'm pretty sure my house will be OK. I'm on a slight slope. It should all run out to the back. The lake is about a mile away. It has a dam on it. Might not matter though if the whole state is deluged. But we're a bit above the lake level. Truthfully, my biggest fear is a tree falling on the house. I'm screwed if that happens. We don't have wimpy trees around here. A house roof wont stop one.

As I was picking up sand bags from Lowes, I thought to myself and I thanked the drivers who delivered them at the last minute. Yes I did! I'm not kidding. :)

It's one thing to press drivers into action to deliver critical supplies but non-critical stuff is absurd. They have property and families to protect too.

Latest reports show it dodging to the southwest a little. That helps us here in Wake Forest. Instead of 20 - 25" of rain and hurricane force winds the latest has us at 10 - 15" with 60 mph winds. But that can change again. It has before and will probably change again.

Out to fill some sand bags.

Praying this beast of a storm stays downgraded. I just heard it’s at Cat 3. But it’s too unpredictable to know. Meanwhile there’s a Cat 5 typhoon headed for the Philippines and SE Asia.

I’m another who says a silent prayer of thanks for truckers and all other delivery people involved in getting goods to my store or my door.

On a lighter note than many of the discussions here, @retic1959 has preached and I have seen the light. I have an older computer running Linux, not dual but whole hog salvation.
Glad to be of service , you're gonna be a man of leisure when it comes to your computer now . No more anti this anti that , no more registry crap , no more defragging , updates on your schedule not MS's. Your work is gonna pay off in peace of mind now .
