The thing is, there is real misery to find close by. Homes that are flooded and everything ruined. The guy should try going in one of those homes when their owners return to find all is lost. He wont have to act like there is drama then. But they have to manufacture it because they're wusses.

Meanwhile, we haven't had much rain. Less than 3" to this point. And it basically all came down in two or three 15 minute downpours when the wind got amped up. I admit, it's scary to see those trees rocking in every direction and noises you never heard before. I don't care if they snap or get ripped out of the ground (it's happened before) but I don't want any of them falling on the house. I have an oak about 18' in front of the house. It's one of those split ones with two trees coming out of one trunk. It's the tallest oak on my property. It got struck by lightning about 12 years ago and the side of the trunk got blown out (along with a bunch of other stuff on and in my house). It lived somehow but I'm never sure just how solid that thing is anymore.

Had another tree on the side of the house that got hit by a lightning bolt too. I'm being picked on. :)
I walked in to a ruined house after Katrina , I lost everything except my vehicles so I know the feeling all too well . If one of those reporters had walked in to my house at the time there's a good chance he would not have left alive . Might'a mistook him for a looter .

Seriously though. If I had to quickly escape my house the only thing I would insist on taking with me is my revolver. I'd take that before I'd take my underwear. If that doesn't scare away the looters the revolver will. :)

I saw lots of video and pictures of Florence. My heart does go out to those who lost their homes, and precious memories with it. There is a horrible feeling in your gut, when you try to decide what to evacuate with. The main thing was for the dogs and I to get out, while we could. If I have to do it again, I am not bringing as much stuff. You take a last long look, and hope it is there when you get back.

    I like April's approach ...
We're all worried about how much water is coming, while she is pumping it into her backyard :thumb:
That seriously did cross my mind.

How is your fantasy team doing? I got pressured into a league and I didn’t get anyone I’m enthusiastic about. Trying really hard to stay relaxed and not obsessive about it.

On the pool front, I got in it today with my dogs for a good hour. They are all tuckered out now. Yes, the pool is a nice addition but they are my main motivation. One of the labs had arthritis so I know the low impact swimming will be good for her.

Not a good subject thanks to NFL.com. One League couldn't draft, another closed before half of the members entered the draft, a third league acted like such snot faced cry babies I picked out the biggest whiner of them all and made him League Manager, then replace myself. Quit my own league.
In the Money League, I got Fournette, Beckham, Brady and not much else. Although Adrian Peterson might be good this week, but it's still a weak team.
And my beloved Ravens sucked on National Television Thursday night. Forget the Steelers, they ain't going anywhere until somebody can cover AJ Green.
Hopefully your team is doing better.

I have had AJ for 4 years now, he is just my favorite player overall. I did not get him this year, and it’s been heartbreaking. Got Gurley and Julio Jones. Those are my most exciting players. It’s onky a 6 team league so there are no shortage of good players still available. I won the first week, no money just fun. It hasn’t helped that I’ve been working on game days. Maybe by week 3 I’ll be more in the spirit.

I was serious , it would have been accidentally on purpose . Frickin vultures feeding off of misery .

One thing leads to another and it's never simple.

Hurricane taking dead aim on us.
Secure items on deck including turning the table upside down.
Look at the brackets that hold the legs together and it reminds me they are messed up and has been driving me nuts for 10 years.
Go to remove eight bolts. Two different sizes. Some english, some metric. All hard to get to.
    Some rusted beyond belief.
Go to and from garage at least 12 times getting different tools and stuff to try.
Finally get them off after employing unconventional persuasion on the rusty fasteners.
Bang out the dents in the brackets.
Go to sandblast/repaint them. No sand.
Run to store to get sand.
    Home Depot sold out.
Run to Lowes and they have it.
Come back, sandblaster gun is shot.
Rip it all apart, no go. It's finished.
    Ordered another sandblast gun.
Sit and wait till it shows up.
I left out a whole bunch of other things on this list.

What started as hurricane prep ended in a table that is in pieces laying all over the place next to a million tools and gear and now I sit and pick my azz looking at the mess I made until the gun shows up. Nothing ever goes to plan no matter how simple. Nothing! Not ever!

    Right, BK?
