Saw this on Twitter and immediately thought of @Bunnykiller.

Pretty sure it makes me an overgrown dork kid to want one of these. But I do.

and to make it even more fun.... smear a dab of nitro triiodine on the contact surfaces of the magnets...

that way you have your magnet cannon along with some pretty purple smoke too :)

Hey! Purple is my favorite color! Now I just have to go to my pantry and grab the nitro triiodine. No problem.

Naturally they have the toy on Amazon AND it comes with the little wooden barrels. Because it’s no fun without those. A mere $44. A bargain. ;)

95 deg today. Then we got another "storm" and lost power for about two and a half hours. Thankfully the power is back, and I can sleep better. I thought I was going to have to try to sleep in this heat, which didn't make me too happy. We've lost power more this year than I can ever remember. Usually it is maybe once a year or less. Now it is becoming much too commonplace.

Good morning. My wife is very superstitious and won't allow me to hang a picture of a nice landscape with the sun setting or rising, thinking that a sunset picture is bad luck. Is there a way to tell the difference between a sunset and a sunrise on a pictured landscape?

Evening...……

Only if there is a weather vane in the picture. :)

yup... place a compass near the picture and see which way the needle points... :)

if it points the wrong way, hang it on the other wall

I'd just plainly state "it's a sunrise".....:D

I had another look, and many images were hard to differentiate, but of those I considered to be sunrise pics, the "feel" is chillier and greater clarity of detail in the e.g. sand, sea grass/oats, waves, whereas sunsets are more "orange" "glowing" and smudgier, a loss of detail vs clarity of detail. Yeah, I know,..... what a scientific explanation, eh? :D

that only works if you are on the east side of the volcano during sunrise ;)
