saw a full blown atmospherical penetration meteor tonite at 10:17 pm CST.... just awesome... came in from south to north as a single glow and then broke up into about 2 dozen pieces.. was about as bright as a car headlite at 1/4 mile ( pretty bright for what it was) lasted about 2.5 seconds before total burn out.... normally I see the ones that just hit the upper atmosphere and bounce out leaving a thin glowing trail for a second or so... :)

Cool! The brighter it is, the more likely that your wish will come true. (I just made that up.)

We saw one here during the day that lasted a long time. Must have been pretty bright to be visible in daylight. Lots of reports of fireball shots with sonic booms these days. Our skies are putting on quite a show. :)

Good morning from yet another hospital bed.

Yep, another partial bowel blockage. I really think it is adhesions pushing on my innards and irritating the (haha) crap out of them. It's early enough I can get ECF on my iPad. Before everyone starts using the wifi.

Came in yesterday morning and nothing to eat or drink since Sunday night. Should get clear liquids today.

Hope all the rains are heading out and damage assessment can begin for those affected by this storm.

I'm doing good. Less than a week to go!

Good grief! Reminds me of the Home Improvement scene in the emergency room at the hospital. Tim knows all the workers on a first name basis.

Get unblocked soon!

went to go get a renewal for the wifeys licence plate at the DMV.... walked in and there were about 60ish people standing around... get a number and its 73... sat there about 10 minutes and they call the next number..... 12 o_O

sooo... thats 51 more people to go and a 10 minute wait between numbers ummm 510 minutes ummm 8 hrs and 30 minutes avg wait time...

and the odd thing... seems as if everyone there was "older" 50+ yrs old... I guess the younger generation "trusts" the internet to do the DMV stuff...

guess Ill try again in the morning get in line for 7:20am and wait for them to open at 8... maybe Ill get a low number

A 510 minute wait would make me trust the internet too.

Oh Robin!!! This is a surprise. I am glad you had a moment to let us know. I've updated my prayers for you. You are a strong lady, and a special one at that. I wish I could pop in and have a visit with you. If the nurses see your name on the board, and they remember you...often they come in to check on you and say hi. (especially during shift change) I am speaking of nurses who had you in the past, but weren't assigned to you that day or night. The ones that do that are pure gold in my opinion. :)

came across a box of old stuff..... a stamp collection ( probably well over 5000 stamps from all over the world) and various post cards dating back to 1886.... people took pride in their penmanship back then....
I'll bet some stamp collector would loose it over this collection... even found some war ration stamps... all the history just sitting here.....

If you want to do a walk in here, you have to be in line by 5 am. When they open at 8-30 they'll hand out numbers for as many in the line as they expect to process in a day, and the rest go home. So if you receive the last of the numbers, you'll have invested 12 hours to get your license renewal. If you book an appointment on line for a specific time to get your license renewed, they'll give you an appointment date and time....2 MONTHS away.... yep, 2 months. I'm convinced gvt deliberately shorts customer service to the public who pays their wages so it gives an impression that they're working like slaves and not spending a single cent more than they have to, .....while laundering billions.

Have you noticed all the spots for more people to work there? You may have 8 places or more. Then you notice only 2-3 are actually handling all those people who come in. It reminds me of Wally World, but worse.
I'm laughing because as I was reading your comment I was thinking of Walter World and then you mentioned them too. My Walter World has 24 registers and I never see more than three open. Lines 6 - 8 carts deep.

When that mindset becomes the purveyor of health care we can all be happy.

Only my emotional age is a member of the younger generation. And I do everything DMV related online for years now. Anything to avoid going in there.
