I do like to tinker and mess around with stuff and I do like to, in some small way, poke my thumb in Microsoft's profits.

It's as complicated or as simple as you make it . You could have stayed with Kubuntu or gone to Linux Mint and the terminal would just be a listing in the menu . But where's the fun in that , you're too much like me , you like to tinker . Plus there's satisfaction in running an OS that doesn't hold your wallet for ransom and takes a smarter than the average bear to maintain . Manjaro is cutting edge , Mint is a piece of cake .

Yes, but Eleanor, they keep saying it is better. Maybe it is just a MAJOR coincidence. All I know is, this is a record for outages for this year. (for me) They can take all that smart stuff and toss it in the bin as far as I'm concerned. They won't do that of course. Baby steps. My lights flickered for a very long time. They they went out completely for a good while. I've never seen anything like what happened, in all my years. (and that is plenty of them for sure)

Long time no see everyone! I need a new smok mag, or something like it. Anyone know any good deals out there right now? 18650 batteries and need at least 120 watts.

Hi Bodach! Hope you’re doing well.

For gear recommendations, @DavidOH is the one most likely to have some thoughts. He stops by in the evenings here.

I have a sigelei Kaos Spectrum (280W, dual 18650) that’s been good to me. I’ve seen it on clearance deals for around $30. VaporDNA has some decent box mods on clearance, if price is your biggest factor.

I know of someone who has been in their home since the mid-70’s. Soon after getting a smart meter, their lights in one room started flickering, going off completely for hours, back on, flickering. Never happened to them before. In researching to help them, I saw a lot of similar complaints to theirs and yours.

Thanks for letting me know LA. We just got a full days rain in an hour, with more to come. This is already on wet ground. It has been doing this for well over a month now. Well, if I don't come back on tonight, you will know why anyway. It is thundering now, but not as bad as last night. They say wind shear, large hail, damaging winds, and yes even a tornado is possible. So far my lights are holding steady.

I think it will take a good, long while to process all of this with Robin. The end came so fast, people had no time to take in the fact that she couldn't have the surgery. Be kind and gentle with yourselves. Grief comes in waves. Let it come when it comes. Robin was bigger than life for a lot of us, and it's going to take time. So, take all the time you need. Losing her has left an empty hole on this site and in many, many hearts. I can't imagine putting it any better than Bronze did in Robin's thread. My heart and love go out to you all ....:cry::wub::wub:

    Harrumph.

I keep getting mail from Florida Power and Light, begging me (with a cash "bonus" inducement) to let them put a "smart thermostat" in my home.

Yeah right, Skippy -- if I wanted SOMEONE ELSE to control my thermostat, I'd have stayed MARRIED!!! :censored::p:nah:

For vape gear I'd say watch and read some reviews. Just take what they say with a grain of salt.. This this the mod I was thinking of getting but haven't yet. Smoant Cylon 218W TC Mod - Black

As for batteries I get mine when I need them from Earth's #1 source for IMR 18650 Batteries, Chargers, Cases & Wraps | IMRbatteries.com

So true. I find myself doing normal stuff and feeling ok (because I’m too busy to think about anything) then as soon as my mind quiets down, I drift into a thought, and I’m right back to just pure disbelief. I truly thought she was going to be ok, was just starting to process that she wasn’t, but still looking forward to seeing her pop on again, to say she was home with family, that she was comfortable. When that part didn’t happen it just felt like the rug was pulled out from under my feet. And I still feel like I’m sitting on the ground, thinking, what the heck just happened?

And @Katmar, I haven’t had a chance to officially meet you. Most people here know me as April, and I’m glad to see you around here. I appreciate your posts, they are kind and gentle.

I have a message to the Army from RJ

Hello Army. I hear we are one less now. Retic passed along the horrible news. I have no idea what to say. I know my heart breaks for her babies and family and Rick. And I know you all are hurting too so I want to give a virtual *hug* to everyone. Robin lived well her short time on earth and touched so many lives. I feel blessed to have known her. I am so sad. The Army has lost too many. We will miss you Robin. *RJ*

@Desert Dweller how about an update on how you’re feeling? Is healing going as anticipated?
Oxycodone has helped ease any pain thru today,I'm getting to where I can move around quite well.
I see the vascular surgeon for follow up on the 23rd then will schedule anther ct scan with contrast to see how well the repair is doing so far.Still pretty black and blue at the two incision spots where they went in.

Good evening Army from Ripley, WV. Which will be home for the night.
Then it's back to the Ponderosa, and Mamaw's cooking. I am getting a little bit too old for McDonald's.

the Happy Meals and toy have lost their appeal??? ;)

    I prefer Burger King... ( BK ) :)
