BK,
You might give Libre Office a try under Linux. I opens my spreadsheets correctly and is an easy learn.

be sure to recheck your security settings too... winbloze will reset things to their advantage and allow them "full access".... for some reason ( which I havent found yet) after this last update ( a couple of days ago) my puter is running really slow... especially Youtube... lots of video pausing ( but the audio keeps going).... once I get the new motherboard installed and Mint back up and going strong.... winbloze will be used only when needed ( Xcel, and work related stuff that cant run under Mint).... I guess Microsoft has made enuf money and they dont care about making any more....

So I found out why my desktop icons got jumbled. I have two displays. When I disable one of them it jumbles the icons. I turned it back on and the icons went back to where they are supposed to be. I keep one icon on the other monitor and I think when I disable that monitor it puts the icon on the main monitor and that's what messes it up. Not sure how to fix that unless I just take that one icon off of there. It doesn't have to be there. I'll try it.

UPDATE: I tried it and it worked.

Good morning, Army!

Four of us are running Linux on PC's . I'll put that against a Mac any day of the week . My PC running Linux will run rings around a Mac .

I have nothing at all against Linux. If I wasn't using a Mac, I guess I'd gut it up and figure out Linux.

But I just don't have the time or patience to learn a new operating system. At this point, I'm all about turning it on and using it without having to work on it, configure it or download something for it.

I think it boils down to cost/benefit. If I were someone like Ret (PC enthusiast and gamer) I would probably do what he did and installed Linux. It's just far more effective and interesting than Windows or Apple. But I am neither an enthusiast or gamer or PC guru and, truthfully, I haven't had many problems with Windows for what I use it for. Yes, now and again it flares up and does something stupid but it isn't ever anything life changing. I am more irritated at MS for essentially being a monopoly than I am at the performance of their products. And if I ever had the time and patience to go on a crusade, MS would be one of my targets. But I have come to learn that I cannot engage in every battle out there because I simply do not have the wherewithal. I have to pick and choose what I'm willing to fight for. And as I age, I find I'm willing to fight for less and less causes. Being angry is a lot of work. Ret decided to take aim on MS and I'm glad he does and I root for him because he's doing what I'm not willing to do. I suspect I do the same for others in the causes I choose.

I went ahead and voted early. I don't want to be involved in any potential madness out there. So I made sure I got my vote in while I could. The lines were long, and that was surprising. I figured I would be beating the crowd later. I guess more people had the same idea.

I got to see my grandsons again today. My daughter brought the boys to see their great grandmother for the first time. Then I went shopping for doggie diapers for the little dog. It said it was good up to 25 pounds on the package. Well, they lied. I need the next size up.

is that the weight limit of the dog or the capacity load of the diaper??? ;) 25 lbs of dog poop seems a bit ......

All you folks with your Windows 10 problems. Sheesh, have you considered a Mac? I know everyone thinks they are expensive, but are they really THAT much more expensive than a PC?

And what is your time and peace of mind worth? The older I get, the more mine is worth. I switched to a Mac about 15 years ago and I'll never have another PC in my house.

You can buy an iMac for as little as $1,100. Or a MacBook Air for as little as $1,000.

when was the last time you built your own "Mac" computer?? ;)

Been spending time on the Provari thread trying to come up with battery solutions. Button top batteries are about impossible to find. 18490/18500’s are nearly impossible to find. What are you guys doing?
Which ones do you need?

Our largest battery seller here in Germany still has lots of button tops:
18350 • Erhöhter Pluspol
18500 • Erhöhter Pluspol
18650 • Erhöhter Pluspol

For 18350 and 18500 I had the Efests - they were performing great. Iirc Purple was better than red even though the reds have a tad more capacity.
For 18650 no clue what's enough for Provaris, but imho can't go wrong with a Samsung 30Q, LG HG2 or the Konions

Wouldn't touch any Keeppower, Enerpower or any other rewrapper's brand they have.

If you can't find any stateside and let me know soon, I can bring some with me to FL and ship them to NC (or you meet me in CLT, we have a stopover there :D) Feel free to PM anytime

PS: I would advice not to use a tiny magnet. In a s**t hits the fan situation, like a hard bump to the side, the magnet can slide and cause a short when touching the outer wall of the Provari (it is conductive isn't it?)

Thanks, W. I found the two I need. Got some EFest 18350's and about to order some EFest 18500's. Both button tops. Fortunately they are stateside. I had bought some Efest 18500's a week and a half ago but they are duds. Went with a different source this time.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The only constant in life is change. That’s my deep philosophy for the day. (Okay, you got me. It’s just two trite sentences that popped into my head and before I knew what was happening I had typed them out. I’m having a BK Moment.)

In other news, the $1.6+ billion has been won. By the government. Oh, and the ticket holder(s) get to share about $490 million. ;)

Well she is potty trained, and I mentioned she started her heat. So it is a 25 pound weight limit for those doggie diapers.

I target them because because they're thieves with a crap product and they're blatant about it . Apple can be nasty as well . They have screwed over users by making an OS that wasn't backwardsly compatible and discontinuing support for the older OS . A forced upgrade and finding out your apps that you bought won't work with the new OS sounds like fun huh ? They haven't deliberately forced an update that would destroy data like MS just did though .

I couldnt even download apps on my Clunker 4. They didnt support it. I suspect the 5 and 6 isnt far behind if not already abandoned. BTW, the iPhone just turned 10 years old.

You can’t tell in this pic but we are at 8600 ft. It’s was breathtaking and relaxing, and quite honestly spiritually awakening. We are so small.
