LA, I was talking about 1984. :)

I also have a trackball, that is all I've used for a very long time. I wore two Logitech trackballs out. The first one was wired, the second one was not. The second was an M570. I loved it, but it didn't last 3 years.
So now I'm on my 3rd trackball mouse, it is an Elecom EX-G. So far so good, I don't want to brag on it. (I've had it maybe two years) I chose the wired version. I have gone completely back to wired, I trust that more.

Now that so many things he wrote about are coming to pass, 1984 would be more horrifying. I think about re-reading it, but I know it’ll be upsetting.

Never could get used to a trackball. I can see why people would love them though.

Watched the second season of the Hollow Crown on Amazon the other night . Benedict Cumberbatch plays Richard III . My wife liked Olivier in the role but I preferred Benedict , he's better at playing a demented character IMO .
Poor fella gets a bad rap. He was the rightful King and yes, he did have a spinal problem, the rest was bad PR because Shakespeare was an Elizabethan, and, ahem...it was her grandad (Henry Bolingbroke or Henry VII) who usurped the crown from him. The best way to deal with it? Make Richard a lily-livered child murdering hump back. Enter Saint Henry B to save merrye olde from this horrible monster and reinforce the old Queen's good opinion of one Bill Shakespeare. Consider Billy the father of media, damn his eyes!

You won't believe that I told my wife the exact same thing after watching it . It justified the Tudors usurping the Plantagenets . We are 100% in agreement on this . It was a PR job then . Now it's just entertainment , not history . Richard had no choice and acted accordingly .

One blind idiot on youtube said it had no page up or down buttons , they're right above the ball itself and they work perfectly in Winbloze and Linux . If I leave a comment it'll kill a thousand snowflakes , :)

hmmm... seems that since the buttons are right above the ball, it requires using the middle finger.... something snowflakes dont know how to do... ;)

Good Morning Army. Drinking first cup of coffee, trying to catch up, ... then I realized how far behind I was on this thread. But Pappy is right... just buy a Mac. Windows is a shameful product.
Cold, wet, miserable day yesterday ended with a big pot of Mamaw's homemade chili and cornbread.
Might be time for a battery for the pickup. It has started the last couple of days, but not bu much.
@MostlySunny ; 5-1-1 in my 'home' league (1st), 5-2 in the money league (Tied 1st), 3-4 ESPN league (not so good), 2-5 redraft league (gag me). And last night I had to send out emails to the league reminding everyone that even if your team isn't doing so well, could you please finish the season you started ?

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

I am so glad this is doing the job for you. I have used it for a long time for a daily document backup and Acronis for a weekly full restore.

Backup was successful. Went in and changed one document and ran it again. Sure enuf, that one document popped up on the preview so it works. I like that preview so we know exactly what is updating. Nice program CMD! Thanks.

BTW, I am just backing up C/Users/My Name. I exclude system files and hidden files (still 40,000 remain). Is there any reason to do this any different?

It's a simple process. What do you want to back up and where do you want to back it up to? Straight forward, no digging, no guessing. Why isn't that the standard Windows backup program?

    1. It is too easy.
    2. It works every time.
    3. Even I can do it.

I like the preview feature so you can see exactly what is being updated. It kind of reassures me it is working right. Don't get that with the stock backup program in Windows.

LA, I use a trackball to help with arthritis and tendonitis. I also have a mouse pad that has one side narrow, and the other more wide. You can turn it to change the position of your mouse/hand. When you have it at the same flat level all the time, it can cause more issues. So I periodically change the level. It was made by Allsop. I think they have changed the design a little since I bought mine though.

There is a high dollar trackball they used to make, that you could use either right or left handed. It was made to last, unlike most trackballs today. I don't have it, but I did want one. The Elecom I have now, took a little bit of getting used to. I think it is more for gaming. Elecom is a Japanese company. Not all of their products are made in Japan though.

Went to Costco to get a smaller domes for the hearing aids. The large were bothering me a little. And my carbon monoxide alarm was beeping to tell me it was at the end of it's life. So I got a new one while I was there. Along with 2 new smoke alarms. ($51) Figured it was time to replace those as well. The new ones have a sealed battery with a 10 year life span. Not sure about that but if they last 5 years I'll be happy. So no more trying to figure out where the chirps are coming from.. After reading I moved the CO alarm to my bedroom. Wasn't going to do much good by the back door.

My "ten year" battery made it seven and, by then, I could no longer find the receipts, just bought another.
