I was born with a breast infection. Docs thought I was a goner. Told my Dad to come in and say goodbye to me and everything. I was one miserable newborn. The good news for the little man is I don't remember any of it and neither will he. :)

That’s too lovely a story for me to seize upon the joking possibilities of you as “miserable.” I will exercise restraint. A lil holiday gift for ya. :D

It seemed to me that with all that can go wrong, the real miracle is that any of us are born healthy & okay. Meaning, there’s always a lot for all of us to be thankful for. We are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Praying for all.
And as medicine advances it improves all the time. Hell, penicillin was barely invented when I was born. Good thing it was for me cuz I wouldn't have made it. :) During the colonist days, most families didn't bother giving their newborns names until they were about two years old. Too many of them didn't make it that far.

Gee, thanks. I think.

Opinionated thanks for the tips. I am so glad you gave an update on Jackson. I will be praying for him for sure. He is a little doll, so precious!

Thanks for the prayers everyone. My mother is better today. She hasn't left for rehab yet. Now I hear it may be tomorrow. I don't have any idea, but I wish I knew for sure. Just popping in and feeding the dogs. Then back to the hospital.

Bronze, yes you are lucky with such a rough start. My dad was a premie, and a nurse kept him warm and covered up in her bosom. This was before incubators for sure. (1930) He was a fighter, and a very little guy. He said as long as I can remember that he wouldn't be here if it weren't for that nurse. He thought of her, and was very thankful that she went above and beyond for him.

@Opinionated that strapping man on the upper left was born with a diaphragmatic hernia 20+ years ago. He's perfectly healthy and smart, but that first month was rough with a NICU stay and surgery. Prayers for you and your family.

What kind of knee surgery BK?

opto sumthin... she tore a ligament, split the miniscus and cracked the bone... shes back home and doing ok... totally loaded on pain meds. Between the compression leggings and the pain meds, she reminds me of "The Mummy".... all wrapped up and making weird noises... :)
