You are glad it’s over to get the decorations down already! I loved the pic of you and DH. I’ll have to look up these air fryers. No idea how that might work.

Thank you..
The air fryer is like a mini convection oven I think. I'm about to do chicken legs for my lunch tomorrow.. and leftovers for the starving young adults around here..

Nothing they can do for hubs.Cancer has spread everywhere. Will be talking to hospice tomorrow.

Oh Fran. I'm so sorry to hear this. It seems that the cancer just took a huge hold and ran rampantly very very quickly. You are both in my prayers, and hope you can feel the hug I'm giving you

Well it is 2am and I'm still up. It was a close call. It isn't over yet. We had some heavy rain, and we were in a tornado watch. The tornado watch turned into a warning. Then we had the sirens go off I don't know how many times, I lost count. It is still thundering and raining with more to come. Some places close to here had 65-67 mph wind. My big dog was pretty much glued to me when the sirens were blaring. What a freaking night.

Unbelievable! Your nerves have to be fried. What an ordeal. I hope things will quiet down for you. Sending prayers and hugs.

If anyone has a chance to hop over to the pod related thread I’ve got going, I’d be much obliged. There’s a question asked about HHV NETs and how cleanly they burn. I gave my experience, but I tagged some of you hoping for your input. Thanks! :)

POD + HHV = Perfection!

Yes, they are. It is 4am now, and the rain and thunder are still going on. I had water up to my mat in front of my door. The sirens were a bit nerve wracking, but at least I can hear them now. The heaviest rain came down when the sirens were going, which lasted a while. I finally gave up, and went and bailed water for a good while. I was listening to the weather station with my weather radio. I don't know how much rain I got, because the bowl was overflowing during part of the heavy rain periods. I have had at least two full bowls full of rain, and it is still thundering and raining.

Another round of bad weather for here, again. Heavy rain, high wind, potential large hail and tornado. I can't say it makes my day. We are at the second highest rainfall ever for the year. (on record)

K, I'd like to know where you live so that I can avoid it at all costs. Not because you live there but because I read these weather updates and it sounds miserable. I hope the best for you in '19 but it seems the odds are that you will be floating down the river without the beer and water skis.
:toast: to you and hoping for a Happy Year for you and your family.

I'm terribly sorry to hear this news, Fran. Especially at this time of year that should be a joyous time. My heart goes out to you.

We had an absolute mob of people (mostly family) at our house on Christmas Eve. Towards the end of the evening, my wife and I were looking at each other like "They don't have to go home, but they can't stay here any longer."

I think we are getting too old to be the ones that do all the cooking, cleaning, decorating, etc. that goes along with hosting these things. Unfortunately, nobody else in our family has a big enough house to handle the mob.

It really is a lot of work. I think it's time for you and Mrs Pappy to start delegating. Maybe you guys cook the main meal (ham, turkey, or whatever) and tell everyone else to bring the sides and desserts...serve it buffet style. That's how I do it. I just have one item to worry about. Do a group email a week or two out where people sign up to bring different stuff and Mrs Pappy to manage the menu so everything is covered and you don't end up with three broccoli casseroles and no mashed potatoes. And maybe let a little of your inner Scrooge out and lighten up on the decorations. You're too old to be crawling up ladders for that crap anyway...admit it. And what's wrong with the kids helping out with the post dinner clean up? Their arms aint broken. I commiserate with you buddy. It's a ton of work and the load has to be shared. You and the Mrs are allowed to enjoy the holiday too, right? Besides, it's good practice for the young'ns to get in the habit of taking care of ole mom n dad for when y'all can't take care of yourselves and need help changing your diapers.

BTW, after shopping around for wackers the Stihl and Echo brand got the most stars. Husqvarna got honorable mentions.

CMD, this was not a natural event at all. It was manipulated. If you watch the Mike Morales channel from last night, you will see. I already knew it was going to be bad because of the spraying. I ended up going to bed around 7a. I got up at 11am this morning. As soon as I took the first dog out, I see they are spraying again. This must've been high altitude because you couldn't hear it, but you could definitely see the plane spraying. A few minutes later I went out, and it spread quite a bit.

This is going to be happening to just about everyone. They use moisture in the Gulf to bring up moisture to not only effect us in Texas, but much of the country as well. This is part and parcel of Agenda 21. They want to use weather to force us out, and push us into mega-cities where supposedly you are safe.

I won't be going by the river today most likely. It seems we have a possibility of significant river flooding.

Well I have to go gather more things for my mother. I guess she won't be leaving rehab for a while yet. They did tell her that she had pneumonia for sure. She isn't happy about that, but I think she knows staying a while longer is for the best.
