Hello Army. Yes, I am still around. Mostly in the General vaping area, plus the thread Lori mentioned.
Really getting into my DIY NET these days. Found about three flavors I absolutely love, and maybe three or four others that are also very good. Will be ordering more this week, and getting busy in Mamaw's kitchen again. Which she will have something to say about...
Still trucking. 28*F with a wind chill of 9 in West Jefferson this morning (just north of Boone). Looks like our unseasonal warm spell will be coming to a close. Passed my DOT physical easily yesterday, so I will stay at it for at least another two years.
Note to Parents ; Boys wreck their first vehicle. Make sure it's not your own.

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)

I'm glad to hear you are alive and well. It must be nice to make your own DIY NET flavors! I agree with LA, give Mamaw some spending money, and she will be out of your hair in a flash!

Mom thought she was going to go home today. I feel bad for her. She is extremely tired of being at rehab. It will have to be soon, but really the doctor needs to release her before she goes. She takes her last pill tonight. She wants to go home immediately. It was challenging to say the least. I waited around to see if someone could speak with us about it, but nobody showed up. I guess tomorrow I will see what they say.

It was mostly a pretty day today, but about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday. The cold front is moving in on us more and more though. I think I will go to bed early tonight. I just had some chamomile tea, and I am feeling tired to say the least.

In my case, it’s more lyrics from the 70’s. Smile if you agree on this one.

I love a series of books. When you pick up the second you already know the characters and it's just awesome. What series?

it's science fiction fantasy by Robert Kroese The Iron Dragon Saga books.

It's better than I expected...

Woke up this morning to winter wonderful and the trees drooping down with the weight of the heavy ice and snow.

Oh wow hopefully you all stay warm!

series of historical fiction books by Terry C. Johnston about a mountain man back in the early 1800's.

That actually sounds really good. I'm going to have to see if I can't find that series!

If you also like historical fiction set in medieval times, probably the best writers to check out are Sharon Penman and Elizabeth Chadwick. I love them both but Penman is my favorite. Medieval history is one of my favorite eras about which to read. Penman has a whole series that follow one another. You can download her books from www.archive.com, an online free library. Or I can email them to you. :)

Oh I'll definitely check out those authors.. thanks!

You should check out The Historian by Elisabeth Kostova, it's a really good book... historical spin on Dracula so a little scary, but very well written! terribly impressed with her as an author.

And a good morning to you, Army! January arrived. Brrrrr.

Mornin', General. I didn't know if it snowed or frosted heavy when I first looked out, a tad chilly for an old guy. The very lovely Mrs CMD and I are going to Cattleman's Roadhouse for a late lunch or early dinner, I am not sure which, I hate night driving any more. But I know that either way, lunch or dinner, she will consume a lot of french onion soup. And I will see if this cholesterol medicine works.

My youngest daughter is coming up after work with a burger, fries and shake for me from 5 guys. I've never been to the place but she says the food is good.

I’ve only been there once, back in PA. They make a mean burger and their fries were pretty tasty too. Enjoy! That’s sweet of your daughter to brave the roads to bring you lunch. But you NE folks are made of stern stuff when it comes to winter. :)

I have friends (and know others) who think Five Guys is the best burger joint the world has ever seen. I went and thought they were just OK...nothing special. I've had better. Just me.
