Pyramid power
Pyramid power refers to the folk belief that the ancient Egyptian pyramids and objects of similar shape can confer a variety of benefits. Among these assumed properties are the ability to preserve foods, sharpen or maintain the sharpness of razor blades, improve health, function "as a thought-form incubator", trigger sexual urges, and cause other effects. Such unverified theories regarding pyramids are collectively known as pyramidology.

The last several days hubs has been sleeping a lot but in his waking moments he feels he has to move. He insists on sleeping in the bedroom so he'll go from the bedroom to the hospice bed in the living room and then awhile later to the couch or back in the bedroom over and over all day and half the night. Using his walker as he's rather unsteady He'll sleep/doze for awhile in one spot before he moves on. Hospice nurse says the restlessness is caused by agitation so she wants to double his Activan and use the Liquid morphine to also calm him as well as the pain. She also said he has a high chance of falling on those meds so I'm going to rather careful what I give him.

Ancient mystery religions had them related to the stars, especially Sirius. The Kings Chamber & Queens Chamber in the Great Pyramid each align perfectly at certain times of year with those stars, which shine into the small windows of the chambers. The priest would lie in the crypt and wait to be enlightened when the star shone on his head.

    Hmmm. Nope. Nothin.

Quite a task for you, and stressful too. All the better that you have help. I hope you’re able to take care of yourself too. Sounds like you’re not able to sleep much either.

my daughter had so many tubes coming out of her that she didn't even try to get out of bed toward the end.. But she had, had a double nephrostomy early on as well as additional tubes and bags for various reasons. Her thing was she used to do this thing with her hands, like she was grabbing something/reaching for something just above her over and over.

I hope you can keep him safe.. perhaps he does just need more pain medicine. Likely he is trying to get comfortable and cant do it so he moves around.

Have to think moving around is a good thing too. No?

My ex was a fan of Alan Parsons Project. I’ll try not to hold it against you. :)

I always found them a bit minor. But they certainly were epic!
Their stuff kind of sounds the same after awhile but it’s good in small doses. I happened to like this LP the most. And of course Alan Parson himself was what made Dark Side of the Moon the monumental success that it was. Pink Floyd always kept that AP influence after that record. He even did a couple Beatle records. The dude has been around.

I am so sorry about your daughter.....I have no words. I'm sure your right on the pain because he says that's why he moves.

Well, right now the hospice nurse is coming roughly every 3 days so I don't really have help. I make sure to eat cause I know I have to.Last night I didn't get that much sleep but have hopes of catching up at some point.

Heres the deal. Church people. You might like to ask some help from your church. If you lived near me I would cook for you, and I am sure others would be happy to sit with your hubby periodically in order for you to either get some additional rest or run a few errands.

Its more difficult alone. Try reaching out to your community..

In the condition he's in,moving so much is not a great thing.

Its okay sweetheart. Its part of life too, as heartbreaking as it is. Ive lost both my dad and my daughter to cancer, and went through it twice with my mom although she survived. It seems to run quite deep in my family..

It's difficult as I have to take the calls from hospice services,Such as I have a nurses aid coming tomorrow and I have the social worker that will be returning with paperwork soon. They always call before coming and hubs is in no shape to answer the phone. It's good advice on the church people though. Even though we've never set foot in the doors the church brings us a box or two of food every month and gave us a $100 gc for Christmas to one of the local grocery stores.

Might want to give them a call then, since they reached out to you I'm sure they might be able to do something for you guys. Not sure how you feel about God, but I imagine they would love to be there for you and pray over you both.

I'm sure you're right. We also have an old friend that would be more than willing to sit with hubs for awhile so I can get some rest.

So good. you don't have to be a member of a church ... most are very helpful especially when they are aware of specific needs.

Since you know these people reach out to them, tell them the situation and see what kind of help they might offer..

and if some older person comes and sits with your husband while you get some rest they can always wake you for important phone calls.. Just an idea.

but yeah, a regular meals on wheels (which normally does hot food) would be a help to you right now, as well as perhaps some solid help with housework or any area you can think of that will help free up some time..

See if that church group knows some people willing to lend a hand.

I have friends (and know others) who think Five Guys is the best burger joint the world has ever seen. I went and thought they were just OK...nothing special. I've had better. Just me.

I thought the same thing. Good but not for the price....

That’s why I only went once. I was expecting to be blown away by the burger because it cost so much. It was tasty but not enough to go back and pay so much. In N Out is not expensive and I like it better than 5 Guys.

Fran and Opinionated, you two have been through the mill and back. My heart just breaks hearing the stories. I know what cancer does to people, and it has taken some people I have dearly loved. I can't stand to see people in pain, so I would've never made a good nurse.
