Back from the store.. The storm has arrived but it's only light rain at the moment. On the way home last night the heater in my S10 got cold when I stopped at a light. Today it's doing the same thing. I went to Advance Auto and got a thermostat for it. I've done it before and it only takes 5 minutes. But the one they gave me doesn't look like the one I remember. Just looked it up and it's the wrong one. The store I went to isn't the one close to me but that's where I'm going to exchange it. The part number should have been 14119. They gave me 14419. Ah well no big deal...;)

Well the wind is gusting up to 37mph here they say. That brings the wind chill to 26 deg. Yesterday I think the high was 67 or 68 deg. In Austria I think it was, the snow is about to cover the top of people's houses. Now that is some scary stuff. They can't even open a window to let in some fresh air. When I was up in the northeast, I was told how high the snow could get there. I have seen blizzards there, and it wasn't fun. This storm and the one following just may be worse than that for those northeast of here.

I finally had no headache for the first time yesterday. It was the first time in quite a while of having them. Most of the pain was only on one side of my head, and even went into my jaw/teeth. I've never had a headache like that before. I think it was a migraine, and I never got those. Now, I guess I do. I know I could get a prescription for it, but I don't want to. I think I will take my chances with a natural painkiller instead.
Whatever was in the wind today made my nose start running again. It could be an allergy, I'm not sure. I've dealt with this since a few days before my mom got out of rehab.

Yesterday I took her to her doctor for a follow-up. Then I took her to the store, and she was happy to pick out items for herself. Luckily I felt better yesterday, so it wasn't too bad.

Papaw, sorry to hear your wife's brother-in-law has cancer. It seems to me that more people than ever have it these days.

I just started season 1 of Mountain Men tonight. Interesting show. Grueling lifestyle! Part of you wonders why anyone would do that and another part doesn’t wonder at all.
Mountain Men is a great show too. Tom, Marty, and Eustace are still on the show. The others kind of come and go. Rich was there from the beginning too but was gone this past season. He's a grouch and kind of boring. He does the same thing every show. Chases lions up trees with his beagles. Yawn.

I have to rip half my engine apart to get to the thermostat. :(

My 5 minute fix just got longer...I dropped a bolt down through the latch hole. Fishing it out could be rough. And the rain picked up so it's on hold at the moment. May just see if I have another bolt that will fit if it gets to be too much trouble.:grr: Storm will be through tomorrow anyway.

Well this just blows. Got the bolt out and when I went to snug it up it broke. Got it running now to see how bad it's going to leak.
I had a five minute job this morning that turned into 30 minutes. Nothing ever goes right. :)

HOLYYYYSHEET.... always thought the news was "weird" but didnt realize it was that weird...
I realized news was "wrong" when the bank robbers in LA ( the ones who were totally loaded up with body armor) were on TV during a live show and one of them was shot by a sniper in the head...
later that nite when it replayed, it was reported that the robber shot himself but they never showed that portion of the clip again of the head shot... and the weird part, its nearly impossible ( I cant find any records of it) to find any films of that moment when they took him out... why cover it up?

should have left it as it was... add a disclaimer at the end of the film... " hey!! you mess up, We WILL take you out!" maybe it would be some incentive to keep others from doing the same.

That’s bizarre! By LA - do you mean Louisiana or Los Angeles? I hadn’t heard about that robbery.

one sided migraines are the main symptom of a pinched nerve in the neck/shoulder ( on the same side of the headache)... they can be quite a monster... seriously painful to a point of being blinding. if it happens again, use your fingertips and press/probe the muscles behind the ear and downwards into the muscles of the shoulder ( neck line) and see if you get a brief moment of relief when you apply pressure...
I was getting mine at about 1.5 hrs after going to sleep and found they were stress related. it would take anywhere from 15 -45 minutes of rubbing and sitting up straight at my comp desk to relieve the headache...

IIRC LA put up a link to some page ( Triggerpoints??? ) that hit my experiences exactly...

this one... if you notice, they freeze the film during "his suicide"... and this isnt the only camera view, there was another one from ground level off to the robbers left from across the street, that film cant be found anywhere I know of where to look... ( it shows him with both hands at his sides and then a puff of red from his head going towards the rear of him)

uhoh... drill with a left hand bit and maybe even an extractor... I snapped one off trying to remove the bolt, had to drill it out and put in a helicoil and used a 1/4-20 bolt... drilling cast iron blocks isnt easy... most of the time the bolt is softer than the block, so drilling the bolt is the better way to go... very time consuming tho

After running it up to temp it's not leaking. Tomorrow I'll drive it for a bit and see what happens. I really don't want to buy another truck but I expect the repair bill for this would be big.

if you used RTV as a gasket sealant, it will hold for a while, but if it gets really warm and the pressure goes to standard operating PSI ( 12-18 psi) the RTV wont hold for long... hi rpm runs seem to increase water pressure in the coolant system the quickest... when you test, be sure to bring a few gallons of extra water with you...

Does two gallons of PG, two gallons of VG, a box full of flavors, NET extracting equipment, 4 liters of 100mg Nicotine and 20 mech mods count as a Vapocalypse prepping ?
Or will I need more ?
At least one more REO......

Well I didn't take the cover off to see. I may do that tomorrow. It sucks because I didn't put that much pressure on it when it broke.
My understanding is this is a common problem with GM vehicles. Happened to my neighbor. I think he ended up bringing it to a guy after trying to back it out himself (including the left hand bit BK described earlier). That you already had the bolt out suggests to me a left hand bit (or extractor) has a decent chance of working (my neighbor busted his before ever getting it out). Lather it up with some PB Blaster or WD40, whatever you got. Now is the time to do it because the longer it stays in the more fused it will become. Have to think that thing will be nothing but a headache unless you get that other bolt fixed right. Gotta believe an auto parts store or Amazon sells an extractor.

It couldn't hurt to try that, thanks.
